Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS 16.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 5x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom 24mm

I bought this camera as a high school graduation gift. It has ALL of the features that I consider to be necessary in an above-average daily-use camera that someone will want to use for many years in the future.

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS camera is very light camera with a decent, fast optical zoom. One of the main reasons that I bought this particular model camera is that you can set its ISO anywhere from the basic AUTO all the way up to an ISO of 3200 (using the 3200 ISO allows you to be able to take low-light pics and videos without using the flash). I also love that it has a 24mm wide-angle lens that allows you to get more of your subject in your pic. Also, with the optical zoom, you can get even closer pics or videos of your subject. The camera has a button that makes it very easy to switch from taking pics to shooting full 1080 HD videos. This model camera also has alot of pre-set scenes to make life easier while taking pics. It's very easy to change the settings on this camera to be sure that the shot you want to take will have the right light, focus, etc.

I bought this exact camera after talking with our friend, the Grad's mother, about what her daughter's favorite colors are. I was told that she really likes pink, so I bought this camera in pink (this model's pink is a creamy, pale pink, instead of being bright, hot pink like other models of Canon cameras). I wanted this camera in pink, and didn't care about the accessories that were included in the bundle that came with the camera (in fact I ended up upgrading everything that was in the bundle -I DID give her the 16 GB sdhc memory card that was part of the bundle to use as a back-up, extra card.) I donated all of the other accessories that were in the bundle. I bought this camera, with the bundle, because I could get it through a better vendor, and it would be shipped by Amazon.com using their 2nd Day Prime shipping.

I found 2 different cases that I bought for it. The first case is small enough to fit in a purse, but still has enough space inside it to safely carry extra batteries and sd cards without scratching the camera. The second bag will hold (1) the first bag, (2) the charger with the car charger adapter, (3) 3 extra charged batteries, (4) an additional sdhc memory card, (5) a rolled up Gorilla-pod small tripod and (6) a small, high-speed, high-capacity card reader AND it's still about the size of a small purse.

The bundle that this camera came with had a decent 16GB sdhc memory card, but I also bought her a high-speed UH-1 32GB sdhc memory card. When shooting HD videos, you really need the faster and larger sdhc cards. I learned the hard way many years ago, that in order to reduce the possibility that you will run out of space while shooing your video (or even taking lots of pics), the more GB your card has, the better. Since sdhc memory cards are now about $1.00 a GB, it's very affordable to buy the larger SG sdhc cards.

All in all, the camera with all of its accessories was definitely a hit.

I'm pleased with the package and satisfied with the price but the camera is not the quality that I expected from Cannon. My sister has an elph camera and there's no comparison in quality. The lense on mine wouldn't open at first, then only partially and finally after several daysand now the pictures are still distorted at times. I definitely would not buy it again and reccomend that you not waste your money. Get something better.

The picture is great. My child was very happy. The camera is small and take clear picture. The bundles that came with the camera are very good.
