The good:

This unit is pretty sturdy and does the job well. Unless you're trying to put ridiculous amounts of weight on the unit via the shoes, it should work just fine.

The bad:

The price. This thing came in the mail and I nearly puked at the build quality. I was expecting hard metal and also something much more stunning for the price. It's something I'd have paid $40 for tops, had I been able to see it beforehand.

Beachtek is well known for cornering the market on DSLR-related items and milking the customer completely dry. Do yourself a favor and don't make this company any richer. Their items (ALL of them) are over-priced. Search for alternative solutions through more reputable and affordable companies.

The idea is great but unfortunately the mount base is plastic. I broke mine the first night. Wireless mic and light in the dirt. I bought a bar kind and it works great. Wise up Beach Tek. You could have a really good product there if you get rid of that cheap plastic.

The beachtek multi mount 5d is a nice, solid mount for your video accessories. I used it for a Tascam audio recoded, Rode video mic, and a video light. Sure it may be a little pricey, but it high quality and solid. Like most camerabitems, you get what you pay for
