Wanscam AJ-C0WA-C126 Mini Wireless Outdoor Waterproof WIFI Camera Wide angle 20 Meter Night Vision 3.6mm Lens with 24 X 5mm LED - BlackThe programing disc was not suitable for Windows 7. When I did get the camera to interface with Windows 7 the screen quality for the camera was poor in that the picture did not correctly align within the on screen window taking away the ability to use the on screen camera controlls. I would not recommnend this camera.

I should preface this with the fact I am not Cathy, but her husband!

I purchased two of these. Thank goodness I am familiar with setting up wireless IP cameras, because these came with no documentation at all.

Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised at the apparent quality.

I set both up exactly as I did my Foscam and Wansview cameras I previously purchased, except for IP addresses and port numbers. Within a few minutes I had pictures while connected, then finally wirelessly.

The mounting hardware had me bumfuzzled until I found a picture of a similar product on the internet, then it made sense.

Once mounted, I began to point them in the directions I wanted to cover when I noticed that one camera was situated almost at a thirty degree angle within the case with no way to adjusted it other than angling the mounting hardware. The only problem I see with this is that the cover provides very little benefit at this angle.

I can't speak on what kind of range these have since I mounted them just outside the wall of my router.

With a resolution no better than 640x480, the image is extremely lackluster, but discernible. Colors are washed out as well.

These types of cameras are usually made to work with IE as far as controls are concerned. You can tell this with this model, too. However, they do suggest you setting your monitor display to 1024x768. Not doing so, I found the video image covered some of the controls. Also, I found one camera to be problematic with IE, but it would eventually succumb to my struggles connecting with it after several attempts. While the other browsers don't provide the controls that IE does, they do seem to have an easier time actually connecting to the cameras. I'm assuming all this has to do with ActiveX playing a major role.

The one thing that I found EXTREMELY disconcerting, being the paranoid person I am, was the fact that both cameras had preestablished DDNS settings in place. I just now discovered this! What this means is that, if successfully established, whoever set these up could chime in on my camera whenever they wanted! Both were set up with different DDNS settings and servers, one not successfully connecting. However, the other WAS successful. Now...I don't suppose the Chinese care anything about my front yard, but imagine if these were set up at sensitive locations by someone neglectful to look at this. This would be unlikely since most wish to use DDNS, but...still....

At any rate, should I need another outdoor camera, for the price, and knowing to be sure to lock the Chinese out, I'll consider buying another one of these.
