Samsung S10 HD Camcorder w/15x Optical Zoom

I've had this camera for about five months, and I love it. I use it weekly for short films in outdoor situations.

The HD video is gorgeous. I'm consistently amazed by how crisp and beautiful most of my shots are. For the average consumer, this camcorder is top notch in terms of image quality.

For usability, I also give it top ratings. The touch screen is easy and fun to use, and recording is just a simple press of a button. Nothing bad to say about it, really. It also has a shoe mount for attaching external microphones to the top.

However, the topic of the touch screen brings to mind one of the camera's drawbacks. After a few weeks of use, I began to notice a few dead pixels on the LCD. The number gradually grew until there was a sort of ring of blackness on the screen. I was very disappointed, but this does NOT affect the recordings at all. Plus, to my great surprise, the dead pixels started to go away on their own after a while! The LCD screen is now as perfect as when I bought it.

The only other areas of concern are

A) The hinge on the LCD screen door has become a bit wobbly, and

B) The battery that came with the camera recently fried, and could not be charged to more than 40 minutes. A third-party battery fixed the problem.

All in all, I highly recommend this camera! Its ease of use combined with stunning resolution video (and still shots) should make it an easy decision for just about anyone.

I got this for last Christmas. I been using a Sony full HD camcorder for last 1 year. I was not satisfied with the results so I thought I will give this a try. This one beats my Sony one in price, useability, picture quality and battery life. I love the life-like images on my TV screen. Easy enough even for my wife who is not very tech-savvy.

I'm glad I made this purchase. I sold my Sony on Craigslist.
