Focal distance is a bit far away for looking at valves in an engine. The tip cannot bend sharp enough to get a good view into the cylinder. Light on tip could stand to be a bit brighter. When you're fare enough away to get a clear view then lighting is a bit dim. does fit into spark plug hole however and can view top of piston and cylinder walls.
