I had read in many reviews that you could get rid of your camcorder by having both camera and camcorder in one device. That is not the case with this camera.If the subject isn't moving and the camera is still this will take really good video, but if the subject is moving the camera cannot keep up with the focusing and the image is blurry. That is a major downside to using this for video since movement is the whole point.
That said, the camera itself is great if you don't count on it to record video.
