Don't waste you time with the 18-55 kit !THESE lenses are better !The 18-135 lens (which was specifically built for this rebel)rarely comes off the camera and performs quite well for stills.Also it is noticeably smoother to focus and quieter in video.The IS works fine and it is fairly compact and has a decent weight.
The 55-250 is reasonably sharp and adds quite a heck of a zoom for this price point but don't expect any miracles and you will be just fine.The IS is a must if NOT on a tripod.This lens is compact and has a nice weight as well.
Both are plastic but well built and I have detected no lens creep as I have on my 28-135.
The camera is simply the best rebel to date and quite a bargain with these lenses.
This is my Wife's camera and I have a hard time getting it away from her ! I have a rebel XSI and a 7D and let me tell you that I am now ruined by the T4I's flip out articulating touch screen and has become my "Go to" camera for any different composure shots and of course video !
As for the stats of these you can find them anywhere on the net and reviews as well.
This kit is an excellent addition to any photographers arsenal or just by its self.
Also there are a few(as of this date) specifically made lenses just for this rebel. No other rebel has had this.
