Mini HDMI Cable for CANON EOS 5D MARK II, EOS 7D, EOS 50D, EOS Rebel T1i & VIXIA: HF S10, HF S100,

Mini HDMI Cable for CANON EOS 5D MARK II, EOS 7D, EOS 50D, EOS Rebel T1i & VIXIA: HF S10, HF S100, HF S11, HF100, HF11, HF20, HF21, HF200, HG10, HG20,
  • HDMI to Mini (type C) HDMI Cable for Camcorders - 3ft.
  • Replacement for Canon HTC-100 # 2384B001 Cable.
  • 1 YEAR WARRANTY

I ordered this cable from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. I am using this with a Canon 7D and it works great. I noticed some of the reviews on moster cables were mixed when using them with Canon products. This cable is just a generic version but works great.

Update 4/16/2011

I got this as a gift for my mother-in-law. All I have to say is that shortly after I gave this to her the mini HDMI end pulled off the wire. This may be because it was being twisted some while holding her camera. But regardless the product failed. It was replaced with a Canon brand cable and the same thing happened. Not sure what the next step is.

Nothing to exhalt here, it is a cable that works. It had a good bite when you plug it in, the tabs are not smoothe so you feel some resistance when you plug it in.

Company was courteous, but such a pain to have to return an item especially when it specifically says it will fit my camera and doesn't.

Cable was new and arrived without damage. It works great. Would recommend it to anyone, and the price is right.

You can not beat these prices, I use these cables for Canon 7D attaching the SmallHD DP4. They work great. Small HD charges $9.00 a cord (crazy) and they break pretty much on every shoot and you have to keep buying new ones, but not any more. Buying from here is the way to go.

JVC GRDVM90U MiniDV Digital Camcorder with Built-in Digital Still Mode

JVC GRDVM90U MiniDV Digital Camcorder with Built-in Digital Still ModeFor the past 10 years I've always had to lug both my nikon slr and the camcorder on vacations and to events. It was such a pain. I've been waiting for a camera with enough quality to cover both my motion and still photo needs. The JVC 90 did the trick and it's smaller than both my slr and previous camcorder! The quality of the stills when set to XGA fine is good enough to make an excellent 5x7 and pretty decent 8x10. The 8meg mem card will allow you to take ~24 pictures at this level. Even better, you can video and then take snapshots off the video. This allowed me to get some awesome hockey shots during games this winter. The camera has tons of features I'm still trying to figure out, and leaves plenty of room to grow your skills. I'd recommend an extended warrantee though as the internals of this thing are microscopic mechanical parts that would prabably set you back and arm and leg to repair. I bought a pelican box for mine to protect it. My battery lasts about 10 minutes before dying I usually run with the foldout off to save power.

I just purchased this camera and love all but one of the features that I was most interested in. JVC advertises that you can capture a short video clips to email friends and relatives. Well, this is true, but what they do not tell you is that the format is in JMM format, which is some kind of JVC proprietary format! I have yet to find anyone who supports or has a converter for this format. JVC has partnered with a web service that allows you to store these images for people to come view. This is a free service until you what more space. I just think this is another gimmick to make money at the expense of the consumer.

You will also find out when you play back these clips with the supplied viewer that the quality is very poor!

Another issue I had was that the menus and buttons associated with the memory card were not very intuitive or easy to follow.

Overall, I would recommend this camera with the exception of ... the Email Clip feature.

Bought this unit to use the DV features with my Macintosh. JVC is not real supportive of Macs, but they do give you an extension to add to your system which will let other video editing software see the camera on your firewire port and bring in/out the video.

However, to discuss the camera, it is amazing that so much can be packed into such a small package. Due to all the editing features, shooting options for video, and options for single photo shots with it you will be overwhelmed by it all and maybe bit frustrated. Hang on cus it gets easier. Spent a LOT of time just learning how and went to use the features. When it is all said and done, the quality of the video is great. Good control of brightness during shots in low light rooms or bright light. Zoom is fast, but can be made to go slow so not everyone is on a rollercoaster.

JVC support stinks. Call and hard to get someone to answer questions. Leave messages and they dont call back... ever. Recommend going to local camera shop for assistance, if needed.

I purchased this camera because of its size and advertised good features. Well, let me tell you. First, unless you are in a very well lit place, the image is extremely dark and poor. Even in a room in the afternoon with natural light, the image will be too dark.

Second, the camera started giving me problems and stopped functioning after only 2 months of light use (I was only able to record 4 tapes with this gadget)...that means I ended up paying about 300 for each tape ...Geez...I am MADDDD!!!!

I tried to contact JVC but they would give me no answers, I sent it by the mail to Florida where, after about a month they sent me back the camera and charged me $70 (Don't know why because thee warranty was still valid), but anyway, I coughed up the money beause I didn't want to miss any day of my newborn's baby without filming it. Well, after about a week, the camera would not open and eject the tape. Could I be more frustrated? NO!!! I will buy a Sony instead and NEVER!! EVER buy a JVC prodcut again. If you buy this thing beacuse it hs been reduced (...), think again. ($$$) bucks is still a bad dealfor such a crappy gadget with no tchnical suppost whatsoever.

Want JVC GRDVM90U MiniDV Digital Camcorder with Built-in Digital Still Mode Discount?

I discovered pretty soon after I bought it that this was not the camcorder for me. The only time the image quality (both still and video) is acceptable is outdoors in bright daylight. I have had much problems downloading still images to computer. I was working on a windows NT station and on a win95. I got it to work once but was never able to repeat it. I am a computer professional. It could be I have a defective cable but frankly I do not have so much time to deal with tech support and repairs and replacement. When I buy a product like this I just want it to work out of the box. Other issues are that it comes with no lens cap and that the battery that it comes with has a very short life (less than a hour). In retrospect the SOny P110 (which is almost double the price) is worth it.

Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body with 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II AF-S Zoom Lens + 16GB Card + UV Filt

Nikon D7000 Digital SLR Camera Body with 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II AF-S Zoom Lens + 16GB Card + UV Filter + Case + Tripod + Accessory Kitnasty set.

The camera is brilliant, and the lens is one of the best available for covering 70-200mm, it's a professional quality lens worth about 2 grand. However... stick that UV filter on it? And you may as well have bought a $400 third party 70-300mm instead of wasting your time with this. The rest of the gear is also mostly stuff your going to throw away or never use. Not sure about the tripod.

In reality the price being charged here isn't bad, you could probably find cheaper, say around $2,800-3,000 for the camera and lens alone if you looked around, you'd then have to buy a memory card and filter if you wanted to protect your lens.

Basically buy this set if you want, but throw that nasty filter away the instant you get it. Do NOT ever put that on anything you value.

Canon PowerShot A100 1.2MP Digital Camera

Canon PowerShot A100 1.2MP Digital CameraWonderful Camera! This is my first digital camera, but I've used them and work and my wife has one also. This Canon A100 is easy to use, Takes clear pictures, and does not drain the batteries. It has been a real joy to own.

The only drawback was no optical zoom, but that I still think for the price it is a great camera to own, I take my everywhere.

Expecting a new baby, my wife and I decided to buy a digital camera. After a lot of research we settled on the Canon A100. We had very little digital camera experience so we made our pick of the A100 mostly on price.

To our suprise, the camera performs very well in all lighting conditions. We have taken several shots indoors without the flash (to protect the baby's eyes) and they generally turn out great.

This camera also has a video mode the performs quite well. It takes 20 second clips (without sound) and performs better than other cameras I've tried that cost twice as much.

For a good, all purpose, all around camera that you aren't afraid to use (drop, have stolen, misplace) I believe you cannot do any better.

You must purchase rechargable batteries, so keep that in mind when comparing to other cameras.

After having a terrible experience with a 2.0 MP machine I strongly recommend this machine if you want an easy to use digital camera which can take very good pictures especially in darker environments. :)

I still believe in the quality of Canon cameras but after using this one for a few months, it's been increasingly difficult to get it to take pictures. When I press the button for it to take, it often does not actually take the picture and must be pressed repeatedly for it to take. I thought perhaps this was just a problem with my camera but my friend has a PowerShot A200 and complains of the same problem. This presents a frustrating problem because I cannot ask other people to take pictures for me as they do not necessarily know how to "coerce" the camera. The other problem I've encountered is that you can't change the manual/automatic settings without turning on the LCD. This causes an enormous drain on the battery. The settings are also difficult to find if you don't have your user's manual at hand.

Other than these problems, this is a great little digital camera at a good price. The pictures I have taken successfully with this camera have all turned out good and clear.

I ordered this because I wanted a simple camera. BOY IS THE INSTRUCTION BOOKLET COMPLICATED. Explanations are very poor. Installation is tricky. Have to read VERY carefully because nothing is explained well. There is also no telephone support from Canon. Strictly, do it yourself.

The camera eats up batteries. The instructions say when you download pictures to your computer you should have the camera connected to the electric supply. However, the AC adaptor is an extra cost item that doesn't come with the camera. Also, the camera cannot draw power from the USB plug in. Why not?? A wonderful feature of USB is that it can power accessories. Lastly, the USB connection is via a propritary cord, not a standard USB connector. I was very disappointed to find such inconvenience and lack of thinking from Canon. Yes, the pictures are fine.

Pentax Q 12.4 MP CMOS Sensor Kit with 8.5mm 1.9 AL Prime Lens(White)

Pentax Q 12.4 MP CMOS Sensor Kit with 8.5mm 1.9 AL Prime Lens(White)My main camera is a K-x with a slew of Pentax "limited" lenses. So I was a bit concern about the small sensor on the Q. However I am more than please with the image quality. Certainly is in not as good as an APC size sensor. But the results are significantly better than anything I expected. Up to 800 iso the results are almost comparable. Above 800 iso the noise is an issue, for me, not usable above that figure. On my K-x I get acceptable results all the way up to 4000 iso.

However the results I am getting are better than anything I have seen with a 4/3 system, which I think is the intended compotition. Given the size of the camera and the build quality I am very happy I bought it. The Kit lens has outstanding optical quality and a classic 50mm lens equivalent (47mm) field of view. The "02 Stand zoom" has some barrel distortion issues but they are correctable with in camera software and the zoom range right in the popular range 28-85mm equivalent.

Overall this is a fantastic camera for street photography. It fits into your coat pocket and you can take it anywhere. I ofter forget it's even in my pocket, it's so tiny. But the quality is still about 90% of my considerable larger Pentax K-x. It has all the same SLR type functions as well and a slew of digital filters.

I would recommend looking through samples in the "Pentax Q" group on Flickr.

I bought this camera on a whim thinking it would be fun to play with. Well, it's that & a whole lot more. It feels like a little brick in your hand. The controls are laid out just right. And most of all the pictures are excellent. After all what is a camera made for? To take pictures, right. So forget all this crap about sensor size, how many lines per inch, and all the so called professional reviews.

If a camera feels good in your hand & the pictures are great & you enjoy taking pictures with it. That's the one for you.

By the way I've been in photography for forty plus years.

John

Buy Pentax Q 12.4 MP CMOS Sensor Kit with 8.5mm 1.9 AL Prime Lens(White) Now

The idea of a compact system camera is to take the important internal bits of a DLSR and pack them into a smaller package. This is a small package. Heck, it's tiny really. With the lens off, it's a small, compact camera. With the lens it's obviously a bit bigger, but should fit just fine in a jacket pocket or small case. It's smaller and lighter than either the competitors (I'm thinking GF3 or NEC-C3) but perhaps not meaningfully since they'll all fit in a jacket pocket, and none of them will go in your pant pocket.

Okay, good enough so far, but the sensor (which of course is THE big deal in a DSLR) is a small 1/2.3 inch unit. Same size as that found in low-end compact cameras. You might have interchangeable lenses, but it's a compact camera sensor that is good for its size but is still very small. That means noticeable noise even at ISO 250 and no real ability to go past ISO 800.

To the Q's credit, it has a very fast f 1.9 lens that lets in twice as much light as the GF3's f 2.5 or the NEX-C3's f 2.8 lenses. And there is sensor-based image stabilization. The combination leads to respectable low-light performance at moderate ISO.

Oh. Performance. Yeah, here the camera falls flat on its face. The autofocus takes forever (multiple seconds), powering on takes an eternity (four seconds at least), and there's a terrible gap between autofocus confirm and the actual shutter. Compact camera performance really. And this is after firmware upgrades. Video looked okay, but I'm not an expert.

Pros:

Really quite small

Interesting lens options, this fast 47mm equivalent, the zoom, fisheye...

Very well built

Different than anything else out there

Good low light performance

With the small sensor, real possibilities of interesting lenses such as a super-ultra-mega-zoom (30x or more)

Menus from the Pentax DSLR line

1080p video with stereo mic built in

Cons:

Tiny image sensor which...

...leads to noise at high ISO

...has locked you into the 1/2.3in world which may or may not be a success

...has a lot of cheap, compact camera heritage seen in...

...slow autofocus and slow operation, delay on shutter

Quite expensive

So, in essence, I kinda like this camera, but it's not for everyone. There are real compromises in its construction and perhaps too much focus on miniaturization. For the money, I'd seriously consider other options before jumping for the Q and would probably recommend waiting for version 2 on the Q on general principle.

Full disclosure: I received this camera free of charge for the purpose of reviewing it.

Read Best Reviews of Pentax Q 12.4 MP CMOS Sensor Kit with 8.5mm 1.9 AL Prime Lens(White) Here

I have read all the reviews of this little Pentax camera I could find before purchasing. Many people are focused on the image sensor size and various other technical aspects but for me the overall experience with the camera interface, capabilities and image quality are the real measure of success.

Overall this is probably best classified a niche camera and not intended to replace your higher end DSLR units.

The camera is physically small but not too small to handle or use. Lens system is tiny but good optically. Camera body is 3.9 x 2.3 x 1.2 inches. I purchased an adapter to use normal sized Sony and Pentax lenses with the Q. The use of the larger dslr lenses extends the cameras usefulness a bit but changes footprint dramatically.

I find the Pentax Q a very small full featured and capable camera. Startup time for my unit is on par with all my other big bodied DSLR cameras. The focus speed is certainly not the fastest but mine will focus within 1.5 seconds max with kit lens. All the normal manual and automatic features are available that I normally use from my Pentax K-r or other.

I restrict the ISO settings to 1250 max for low light photos and have taken excellent pictures. Yes the image sensor size does limit the very high ISO ranges based on noise introduced but most cameras have this limitation. The dual position flash is interesting solution to avoid lens light blockage. The HDR in camera process works well.

Writing speed of images to SD card is acceptable when saving both RAW+JPG images at same time. Just saving RAW or JPG images are as expected much quicker with a decent image burst speed for an inexpensive camera.

Rechargable battery provides me with about 200 continuous use images without flash.

It is not a Pentax K-5,Sony SLT-A77 or Nikon J1. Think more of a Panasonic LX5 with interchangeable lenses. In my opinion, if you are interested in a TINY interchangeable lens camera with dslr like capabilities then this is a good choice.

Want Pentax Q 12.4 MP CMOS Sensor Kit with 8.5mm 1.9 AL Prime Lens(White) Discount?

Don't read the paper specs and do the knee jerk reaction of "oh it's a small 1/2.3'' sensor, so it must not be any good."

The Q is a great little photographer's tool and a lot of fun. The sensor does better than most think and combined with the fast 01 prime lens, it is far more capable than many think. I have the LX5 and in lower light the Q outclasses it (not saying the LX5 is a bad camera, it's also a nice camera).

The other thing that is missed is that the Q has perhaps the best photographer centric controls of any camera in its size and actually, several bigger cameras than it. This may sound silly but when you are doing photography, the more the camera "gets in your way" the less intuitive the workflow from seeing to capture is.

The Q also sports some rather odd characteristics that punch way above its weightlike 1/250th external flash sync (that's in medium semi pro DSLR territory), unibody magnesium-alloy build (like a pro dslr), full photographic controls in an easier to use interface than many other cameras.

The bigger cons of this camera has been its launch price. At $375 USD here at Amazon the price it's more than a share of fair, as you get a nice lens too. If you have a chance to see one in person pick one, it's just not the same as seeing it in pictures.

The Q is quite a capable camera if you are interested in pushing your photography and sticking with it, pros and cons. It's a camera you can "wear" and carry at all times with its prime lens, and other lenses could even fit in your other pocket. And with the latest firmware upgrade Pentax released a while back the speed of operation improved in a notable way (i.e. it no longer takes 4 seconds to bootnot at all).

Think of it as a digital Diana or Holga thanks to its jpeg filters and customization, but with the capability to punch much higher than that when used judiciously with RAW. And it's fun.

Belkin Micra Digital High-Speed HDMI Cable (15ftt)

Belkin Micra Digital High-Speed HDMI CableI was using this cable to feed from my Laptop to our big TV for streaming shows. One of the first times that I used it I went to pick the Laptop up off of the floor and the cable with the plastic covers pulled right off of the metal portion of the plug which was left in the laptop. The ends of the wires appeared to only be slightly crimped at the ends where they had been in the connector. There was no solder and there did not appear to be any mechanical connection or adhesive between the metal and plastic parts of the end. It appears to be either a bad design or part of the assembly process was skipped.

Belkin makes many of the best cables out there. They are respected by so many in the business world for a reason. You will not be disappointed with this cable. If you are in the market for a good HDMI cable then give this one a try. I also highly recommend Media Bridge cables.

Too many times I find HDMI cables that are of inferior quality at seemingly ridiculous prices. I this case you get a high quality cable at a reasonable price point. It's truly a win-win!

Pros:

good quality construction cable surface is textured and has high quality coatings to prevent interference and snags.

HDMI connections are solid. No loose connections here.

Cons:

none that I could discern.

Overall you get a great cable at a great price.

Hope that helps.

The end of the cable broke off after 10-15 plug-ins, very poor quality. Just sitting plugged in, the weight of the cable itself bends the connector in the socket.

I received six of these cables and two did not work out of the box. I read a review on PCMag online that stated that HDMI cables should all work the same assuming they are manufactured to a basic standard. Due to the low price I paid for these cables I'm not going to mess with exchanging or returning the defective cables. For the cables that did work, they work well and I'm happy with the braided coating on the cable as compared to standard plastic-coated cables.

Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital SLR Camera Body & EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens with EF-S 55-250mm f/4.

Canon EOS Rebel T4i Digital SLR Camera Body & EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens with EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS II Zoom LensDon't waste you time with the 18-55 kit !THESE lenses are better !

The 18-135 lens (which was specifically built for this rebel)rarely comes off the camera and performs quite well for stills. Also it is noticeably smoother to focus and quieter in video. The IS works fine and it is fairly compact and has a decent weight.

The 55-250 is reasonably sharp and adds quite a heck of a zoom for this price point but don't expect any miracles and you will be just fine. The IS is a must if NOT on a tripod. This lens is compact and has a nice weight as well.

Both are plastic but well built and I have detected no lens creep as I have on my 28-135.

The camera is simply the best rebel to date and quite a bargain with these lenses.

This is my Wife's camera and I have a hard time getting it away from her ! I have a rebel XSI and a 7D and let me tell you that I am now ruined by the T4I's flip out articulating touch screen and has become my "Go to" camera for any different composure shots and of course video !

As for the stats of these you can find them anywhere on the net and reviews as well.

This kit is an excellent addition to any photographers arsenal or just by its self.

Also there are a few(as of this date) specifically made lenses just for this rebel. No other rebel has had this.

So....have fun shooting!
