bought this for my acer iconia 500 tablet. works fine but you should connect in the following manner. plug into tv. turn on tv and set the proper input hdmi #. now plug the cable into your tablet and turn on the tablet.

The service from HandHeldItems was excellent and I will buy from them again, there is one problem and it is not their creation. It is my tablet, I have an Acer A501 and it turns out that Acer has done something to the micro hdmi port so that only their $30 cable will work with it. I didn't return this because one I waited to long and two it was not HandHeldItems fault and no need to deprive them of income. I highly recommend buying from them if your in the market for cables and such.
