Not much to say about it -it's a cable, and it conforms to the HDMI spec, and it works just fine. I can't really understand why other brand HDMI cables are so expensive -it's a digital signal being carried, so shielding isn't really an issue. Save some money and get this.

I got two of these at $12.94 each, I was familiar with Tripp Lite as a quality product. I had bought a 16FT DVI to HDMI cable earlier in the month for my DVR digital cable box. SO I knew I was getting a great quality cable for a very good price. I bought these cables 10FT HDMI gold for my PS3 and DVR cable box along with a two port HDMI switcher. I used the HDMI to DVI 16FT cable to run from the HDMI switcher to my TV's HDCP DVI port, than I ran the the two 10FT cables one from PS3 to Switcher and one from the DVR to the switcher. These are great cables, every bit as good as any Monster or other overpriced cables dare I saw maybe even better. I can't say enough about the quality of these cables compared to same length Monsters or other quality cables that charge upwards of a 100$ or more. Don't waste your money, you can get thick shielded quality cables for 1/10 of what these rape artist companies charge, I will never pay monster price again. Niether should you. Look for quality Audio, Video, and Speaker wire but it does not have to cost you as much as your system, especially digital cables.

The 16 foot length works great for my set up and the quality of the picture is perfect. Delivery was fast and efficient. I originally bought a Monster 8ft HDMI cable from Radioshack for $100 just to satisfy my impatience to get my new HDMI DVD player connected. Bought this cable as a replacement. It is well made, sturdy and seems just as good as the Monster rip-off. DVD picture is equally good (hardly suprising since it's a digital signal and either works or doesn't).

Don't waste money on fancy overrated cables such as Monster. This one has the gold connectors and may not be as colorful as the Monster, but who really cares? It's not like you ever see the cable once it's installed.

1/4 the price of a shorter Monster cable and just as good.

I firmly believe with digital cables (HDMI, DVI, etc.) you are wasting your $ to spend $100+ on Monster and other high-end cabloes. Overall, I find this a pretty good little digital point and shoot, and a good replacement for our earlier model of Pentax Optio. For indoor shooting, I am impressed at the depth achieved by the flash -much better than our earlier model. In fact, I really wasn't expecting such good results. If I were to fault the camera at all, I would say that the colors in the photos are vibrant -perhaps a bit more vibrant than in actuality. Still, that is a minor problem -if a problem at all -for a digital camera in such a portable package.

I bought this because I had given my 8mp SE phone to my mom (along with my Sony camera). I realized that my Sony was bulky to carry around and did not prove as effective as when I was a student (took it to games and stuff). So, this is my continuing saga where I research on really good brands that most of my 'desi' friends aren't even aware of. They say "Pentax??!! What the heck is that? Why didn't you buy a Canon or a Sony?" The picture quality, face recognition and the speed are very nice. This is basically what you'd NEED but may not WANT. There are a lot of built-in profiles that are very easy to set the camera to in an instant. The interface is okay but I think I personally might want some more (I see everything as computers ...)

Anyway, awesome buy. And, I did have a 20 bucks manufacturer's discount.

I have been using a Pentax camera, mostly on vacations, for several year and am pleased with it. I wanted a camera with a wide angle lense so I could take group pictures and landscapes without leaving out part of the scene I wanted.

After I received the Pentax P80 and started taking test pictures to see how it works, I found that the advertising about "wide angle" lense was misleading. What the camera does is stitch two or three pictures together to make one wide picture. That is hardly a wide angle lense. I already had a Canon camera that allows me to take two pictures and then stitch them together with the software Cannon provided. The Canon is a much larger camera and it is still difficult to take two pictures that can match each other enough to stitch them together. The Pentax is very small (which I like) but it is almost impossible to take two or three pictures that match enough to stitch together.

I should have known better to think I could get a wide angle lense on a camera that only cost $130. But the darn thing is so easy to carry around, and takes such good pictures, that I won't leave home without it (and my cell phone, of course).

For the money this is a really solid buy. Takes really nice pictures most of the time, and nice video as well. The exception to this is in medium to low light for the video. Anything short of well lit or sunlight will result in a very grainy video. We took video of my son's first birthday in a restaurant and even in that lighting the video turned out quite grainy. The camera in flash modes works very well in low light, though the flash is a bit hotter than I would like for close subjects. Turn off the flash and even in auto mode it won't compensate well. Now for the big but.

But the various modes that are provided in the camera do work well. The fireworks setting does great in low light capturing the flash of the firework. So not all low light shooting is poor, some is quite good. But trying to capture a moon rise left a lot to be desired on most attempts even shooting with a tripod and time delay so there wasn't any shake by me. If you are shooting in low light, just take as many photos of the subject you can with the hope one does turn out.

This also (of course) means that any sort of movement in a low light setting is a deal killer. But that is pretty much the norm for a camera at this level, so I'm not holding it against it, just informing you that this is the case.

The one thing I have liked the most is the setting where you can take 3 photos and manually stitch those photos together in the camera. With a tripod these photos turn out amazing.

The LCD screen is excellent. Clear, easy to use and able to be seen in all but the very worst direct light situations. The weak spot is the battery door. This thing is held on with at best a paper clip quality hinge. Start up is quite fast, and shut down equally fast. Size is very small, fits in my front pocket with no problem, or in a shirt pocket.

Would I buy it again? Yep. I got mine for under $90, so it is worth shopping around and waiting for sales.

This camera was exactly what I was looking for. I have a bigger Fuji camera that I have been very happy with, but wanted a "pocket" camera that I could have with me all the time. This is perfect. I can take it to the restaurant when I have dinner with friends, or to little league practice, and it doesn't take up too much space, or too much of my time worrying about it. It takes great photos, and I am completely satisfied, and will purchase Fuji products again.

I bought this to replace my circa 2003 Fuji A310. I got this to use for documenting project sites for my job. I used it for one project so far and it did a decent job. I've been taking pictures in 3 megapixel mode, as this is really all the resolution I need. The photos look good for the most part. Only a few blurry shots out of about 100 total.

Pros:

I prefer the AA batteries over a rechargeable battery. I'm often out in the middle of nowhere taking photos for work. So, if I run out of batteries, I can always stop in any convenience store and get more AAs.

The battery life is excellent compared to my old A310. The A310 would shut down when the batteries were only half used up. I put the 'spent' batteries from the A310 in the AX300 and got over 100 flash photos out of them.

I like the automatic switching from automatic mode to macro mode. I do a lot of alternating between wide shots and macro shots, and the automatic switching is easier than switching manually.

Cons:

I may just need to shut one of the settings off, but on a few shots the face recognition software kicked in when there were no faces in the shot. This messed the photo up.

The camera has locked up on me once. Opening and closing the battery compartment re-set it, but this will be annoying if it happens frequently. The range finder also seemed to stop working once, but worked again after re-setting.

Update: I haven't had any issues with the camera locking up since the initial use. I have also bought a second camera of the same model (one for home, one for work) and have had no issues with it.

Doesn't include any memory, so make sure you purchase a SD card for it. They used to at least give you a minimum sized memory card when you bought a new camera, but not anymore I guess.

It doesn't have a viewfinder, which is handy on days with very bright sunlight.

When you connect this to a computer via the USB cable it doesn't show up as a disk drive. You have to use the camera wizard to get the photos off of it. This may be a software issue and I'll see if I can find a work around.

This is a decently priced point-and-shoot camera that takes good pictures with decent lighting (where you can get above 1/60th shutter speed on auto). The 14MP is a bit of an overkill for most users, but it is certainly nice to have that resolution. As others have stated, it does feel a bit "cheap" because of the plastic casing, but functionality-wise, it works well. The only con about the about the camera so far is it doesn't perform too well in low lighting situations compared to other cameras for both photos and video. Images come out a bit more muddy than other cameras in low light which is a bit noticeable when you compare it side by side with a picture from another camera. The image stabilizer doesn't really add much to those photos either so don't expect anything amazing with that functionality. The 720p video is decent and good for use if you want to take a last minute video of something. If you're going to be recording video for an extended amount of time, be sure to grab a larger SD card as with a 4 GB card you can get around 10 minutes of video. The interface is about 95% digital menus so expect to refer to the manual for specific functions, but it's not difficult to navigate for simple shoot modes.

Overall, I found this camera OK. It won't knock your socks off or anything (that's why I only gave it 4 stars), but it certainly works well and will get the job done.

I recently bought a Fuji AX300 digital camera here. The camera has a 5X optical zoom which is decent for a small camera. This is my 2nd one of these small Fuji cameras and overall, it's a pretty decent digital camera when it comes to a basic point & shoot type.

It's easy to use once you figure it out, has a decent 5X optical zoom, macro zoom that works pretty good and fairly good picture quality. Videos on this camera is not as good as the voices gets "choppy" and garbled, even at lower volume levels. So, I would not use this for a video uses, unless you're outside at a sporting event where sound is not too critical, then it's fine for that. Video quality is good however.

Picture quality is fine in sunny weather, tho the pictures can get all sun-washed and in darker low-light weather, the pictures are poor quality. If you take indoor pics with the flash, the pictures will turn out okay. Outdoor pics under partly cloudy conditions produces good photos with this camera. There are some manual settings on this camera also.

Not too much I hate about this camera, except for the garbled voices I periodically get on the video mode, but that's no biggie for me. It uses 2 AA batteries and battery life with this camera is not as good as other cameras I have had, but luckily it uses easy to find AA batteries.

So to sum it up in a few words....yes, I would recommend the Fuji Finepix AX-300 digital camera for general photography, scenic photography and family indoor or outdoor photos.

at first i was worried at how light camera felt out of the box almost like toy as another reviewer mentioned. However the pictures that this camera takes is great, straight forward, I am particularly happy with the fact that it has an option to take black and white pictures which I personally like for those vintage type shots i like to take. My only disappointment is that the camera does not contain a rechargeable battery other than that I am contented with my purchase.

This protector is much better than I expected. It fits perfectly and easily onto the D5100 screen and it is very clear with no bluring / tinting effect of the image on the screen. Not sure about glares under the sun but I am sure there will be.

Anyways, I got this protector because I have to travel and expect to hang the camera around my neck while walking around. I think the physical rubbing of my camera screen against my coat might cause some scratches so I want to put on a protector. This is a perfect solution for me because I am not planning to have it on the screen permanently since whatever protector you put on (film/glass/polycarbonate) will cause degradation to the LCD image. But unlike the glass or film protector, this one is super easy to remove and you won't have to worry about any residues on your screen.

if you are looking for some way to cover your back screen on the 5100 than this cover does its job. the only drawback is you cannot turn the screen in toward the camera without taking it back off. that is not a big deal seeing how it snapes on and off with ease. i keep a cling type screen protector on mine all the time and use this when i need to have the screen out. good product!

First order was for a D5100 and should have been a D5000. If the D5100 LCD opens up like a D5000 then when the cover is in place you cannot close the LCD screen back against the camera. If you work with the LCD screen always open it would be OK, but I think one would be taking the chance that you would probably break the LCD Screen Off. I will be purchasing the stick on film covers to replace the hard cover that does not work.

I bought this camcorder last December (2004) and it is absolutely the best picture I have seen out of a Mini DV camcorder. I originally bought the Panasonic 3CCD and returned it due to no ability to adjust shutter speed below 60 for low light conditions. This goes down to 4 fps which you better have it on a tripod or serious ghosting will appear. The perfect setting I have found for low light, for instance inside your home is 30 frames per second. This camera will also take MPEG4 movies to the memory stick for emailing. Overall, I must say this is the best camera on the market currently for the price. Buy one and you will not be sorry!!! Have fun shooting!

This is the best quality you can get in a semi-pro camcorder from Sony prior to the 1080i release, which has not been released prior to this writing. You just can't bet the 3 ccd quality. Just recently I shot a lunar eclipse with this little cam and as I was getting the cam out, I remarked that it probably wouldn't show-up, I was very wrong. At just the 12x optical zoom, the detail even on the 3.5 inch monitor was better then the naked eye. Amazing!

This camcorder rules!!! It has superb low light video quality. Remember those grainy, yellowish pictures that you typically get when recording indoors at the normal bulb light? You can forget about them now: the camera records outstanding, grain free, rich color video in any environment you'll take it. The touch menu is a superb ergonomic achievement, albeit I thought initially that I'll hate it, upon use I came to love it. Taking about ergonomics: do you remember those hand joint pains when recording for an extended duration? You can forget about that too, since this cam is the only one in the market that has a swivel handle, so that you can choose you own natural angle for holding the camera.

Did I mention video quality? or the native 16:9 wide format? The optical stabilizer also rocks. Most of the other cameras have electronic ones.

Minuses? The picture (non video) quality is no worst, nor better than that of other video cams. Get a digital SLR for real picture taking.

It is an excellent camera, probably the BEST on market for the price you pay, excellent video quality, and good pictures too.

But need to improve 3 points:

1You Cannot wath it on a PAL System TV, Thats important to me because have to travel a lot to Europe, but cannot show what i have recorded to my family there. All my olds cameras have that option.

2The Microfone is not as good as the cameras with the Mic on Front. This camera havi it on top, ¿why? i don't know

3Most of the funtions are on the touch panel, i want the white balance out, and maybe some others funtions.

This is the greatest little camcorder in the world with lots of bells and whistles that would have been way more expensive a while ago. I do wish that it had actual fstops rather than a slider on the touch screen for more accurate adjustments, ditto shutter speed and the manual focus is a bit fussy. More easily accessible manual controls would make it close to perfect. the touch screen takes a little getting used to and is not the very best idea. Other than that image quality is terrific under all sorts of different conditions, a camera mounted mike has decent sound and it is really a pleasure to use.

The first unit I received was defective (it rebooted every 2-3 minutes, and sometimes would fail to reconnect to the network).

The second unit works pretty reliably. It is nice to be able to view it in a web browser on either a mobile device or a PC.

The camera fails to meet the ideal in the following ways:

Occasionally (every 5-10 minutes) the video pauses. In a browser window, a refresh is required to restart it. In the dedicated MultiLive PC software, the video restarts automatically.

The MultiLive PC software periodically locks up, and will not restart without killing the old process from the Windows task manager.

Even at the highest quality setting, the picture is pretty pixelated for a 640x480 image. Frame rate does not seem to be 30fps as advertised.

The audio feed has a constant background tickety-tickety-tickety...

The infrared lamps emit visible red light, which makes the camera visible in the dark.

Changing any of the night vision settings causes a clicking sound from the camera. Changing the IR filter setting causes a loud click which attracts attention.

Automatic IP setting did not work. I had to assign the IP address manually.

I purchased 3 of these for use around my home. They provide the most basic video surveillance for the price. These upgraded units offer better apparent resolution and much better color fidelity due to the IR-cut filter. All three samples I have offer slightly different picture quality. One unit is very sharp relative to the others and one appears to be somewhat out of focus. They all work well when it comes to moving around when using the pan and tilt features. Wireless range is also improved compared to the older FI8910W model I own. The GUI interface built in to these units works well. Setting up the device takes only a few minutes. The sound feature does function, but not well enough to consider using it. For the price, you can't do much better. The black models are covered in a flat black material while the white models are shiny white plastic. They have also started to include a nifty mounting system with the camera that works well.

The cam itself is excellent. Each time one of my UI's updates (Windows, iOS, Android), my saved settings are wiped and I have to start over; this is an annoyance. Besides that, I would certainly recommend the camera. My wife and I use it as a baby monitor.

-The camera has good night vision and decent video but not HD.

Unlike some comments about the previous model, the lights on this model are discrete, especially the IR LED, not so much the LED at the back (on off and Network activity)

You can turn the network light off

Sleek design allows almost 360 patrolling or movement

Up and down movement is acceptable and the product comes with a articulated mounting bracket

The AC converter and camera do not heat up enabling long service

Patrolling and scanning has a silent motor

The Bad (And no, I don't think I have a fake camera (Hologram and SN number is on the bottom):

The setup guidelines were written in so-so English and are very unprofessional. ShenZhen Foscam could have sprung a few bucks and paid a document writer for the couple of pages instead of the cusin who took English in school.

The software is not great and I read the reviews for the mobile app (they say it's like a prototype not a working release (again, that's what happens when cousin Li also does mobile apps)).

The promised secondary features are mostly false claims:

-Forget IR-CUT. There is no IR-CUT. (Now do you care that a black suitcase shows up white at night. maybe not)

-Email alerts (for who accessed the camera or to receive footage via email) not working.

-Easy setup? My &?%!, It took 4 hours, also had to use youtube. (on youtube a side-coment told me to restart the camera software that was helpful amongst other things).

-What else do they promise? Ah, audio in and out. Well, it's not in the box. The camera can probably do it but not the software. i.e it's not provided even if you are a geek and try to find the missing plug-ins it will not get you anywhere. If you build your own then maybe, hence it's a false claim. Now you can use CamViewer (from the Appstore) to get the Audio but that's like building your own product. I expected this and bought a $30 FM monitor as a reliable detection device (with no lag)

-Audio is really bad. pretty much as bad as night video is good.

-Security (to be fair they do not promise that) is very limited for enabling a internet camera.

Barrel distortion is phenomenal. Do you care? Not on a security camera.

Power cable is too short out of the converter, if you want to install this closer to the ceiling it will leave the converter hanging, quite unsightly.

Conclusion:

Buy it for the video only not the audio, home use, night vision. Ignore the manual and monitoring software, as there is better free help out there. Do not believe that its bad communication or that you must have misunderstood what to do. They pretend the features are there but they aren't. When cousin ShenZhen writes about a feature, it's not a mistake it's a false claim. I paid $100 and I keep it but I'm not happy.

I decided to buy one after seeing the quick response, by the seller, with regard to the individual that had a problem.

Item arrived quickly ahead of Amazon's estimate which impressed me as we are on opposite sides of the USA.

The other reviews here are positive but brief. I want to add detail. It really IS a sweet little item.

I've tried a number of these for office security and MANY are JUNK. Go ahead, check my other product reviews. It's a relief to find one the seller stands behind. Now I do also.

1. The unit fits in the palm of your hand. It is a nice travel clock. LED display is not too bright. Tiny and easy to pack. Discrete.

UPDATE: If you find the display too bright as a nightstand clock, use a screen protector for a cellphone. For $2 the "High Quality Privacy Screen Protector Verizon BlackBerry Tour 9630 Sprint" (Amazon) covered (and dimmed) the screen but did not block the cam so you won't have to move the protector in the AM for security "duty".

2. The AC adaptor is both 110V and 240V THANK YOU! so you can use it in Europe / China / etc outside the USA. My Sonicare toothbrush can't do that. International AC adaptors are a must in my opinion. Travelers: The cord is about 2 feet. See seller comment to this review for longer cord options. Note that it does have a USA plug so for China/Europe you'll need plug adaptors but you do NOT need a voltage change.

3. VIDEO: I intend to use this as a security cam in my hotel room as I travel often for business. A little extra "peace of mind".

You can choose 320x240 or 640x480 for video resolution. These choices are pretty standard for security cams. I set it to 640x480 and "high" quality. Looks NICE!!! Obviously, more quality image means more memory used. Follow the seller guide (included see item 4).

BIG PLUS... the IR LED lighting is 940 nm! Who cares? 940nm is invisible to the eye. Many cams use lower nanometer levels which glow RED the universal signal that you are recording. I viewed THIS item with another IR camera and only then did I confirm the lighting was "on". Nice!

NOTE: See the first comment to this review, from Nick (the seller), regarding the amount of video time per gigabyte of memory.

4. The instructions included are TINY but the seller forwards you a LARGE size version PLUS a two-page "get started" guide. I was functioning in under 10 minutes. Follow the seller's guide step-by-step. Honestly, if you have a micro SD card reader you are ready to go in no time at all. No software necessary. There is a micro DVD included with English User's Manual, video example, etc but I found the seller doc more useful.

5. When you check your micro SD card you will see FOUR folders have been added Music, Pictures, Rec, Video

Any use of the cam goes into the "Rec" folder (there is another "video" folder in "Rec"). Why mention this? Because it really IS a clock/radio/MP3 player combination. I put a set of songs into the "Music" folder and it plays them well. Sound is not bad considering it's so small. It will also auto advance to the next song. I'm listening to it now. If you have an iPhone or iPod you might not use it but then an iPhone doesn't have night vision.

6. Mine is silver as in the first photo above (detail page). Some of the photos show other colors. I'm happy with silver. I think that is the default. Contact the seller if you have a question.

I use this to monitor my home while at work. I turn on the recording when I leave the house and off when I return. The unit in plugged into the AC charger all the time and since I have the spy camera set to loop record there is no need to delete files from the device ever.

I wish I could expound on how wonderful the camera is (and it does seem to be), but we purchased it to catch a thief ~ literally. Before we had a chance to set it up, another neighbor caught the scumbag in the act. But, what I can attest to is the integrity of this seller. Very good image quality although I haven't tried the low light setting yet. No motion detection which was sort of a surprise for a spy camera, but the fact that you can leave it plugged in and can use a big (32 gb or maybe larger MicroSD) gives you an awful lot of hours to record. And it can loop, deleting older videos as necessary if you set it that way. It is fairly tricky to learn, with a tiny instruction booklet, but the seller has an online video and a PDF of a blown up copy of the manual so that's very helpful. These products, at least cheaper ones, are often impossible to figure out from the broken English instructions. This one is not difficult.

As for cons, it will only display 24 hr time; no AM/PM setting. The base has a very bright blue light which is annoying but is easily hidden by a piece of electrical tape and it actually looks good that way. I ran into an audio issue. Quicktime on XP, at least on my machine, produced a screeching audio track. But any other playback application (VLC or Nero Showtime) worked fine.

Summary is that it is a very solid device, nice looking, and works well.

I'll be diplomatic and say this isn't a bad camera. But I used to shoot a lot of live events and concerts, and with a DVX100 and a DVC80 to choose from, this camera would always get stuck on the lowest priority shot. It's big, but mostly hollow, so it's almost as light as a Canon ZR series. In sunlight or other bright light, you're fine, but in low light you really know it's a 1-CCD camera. The colors wash out and the picture gets noisy. For a third of the price you could get a consumer level camera (Canon ZR) that'll shoot nearly as well (if not looking as imposing) while you save your pennies for a 3-CCD model.

Like the other review said, this is a good starter camera. After being out of the video business for about 5 years I decided to by this camera for a wedding I was shooting. I got it at a great price. There are a few problems though. It's a little hard to deal with in low light. I have a mounted 150-watt light and it still hard to deal with. If you gain up one it's kind of grainy. But if you are not doing anything that is broadcast quality then this is a good camera. Since I'm doing low budget wedding this is perfect for me.

This is a great starter camera if you are thinking about getting into videograghy. This camera will give you the pro look, but it seems to be just a consumer level camera in a pro package. quality seems to be very good however, I have only shot a few hrs of tape so far. if you can come up with an extra $1000 seriously consider a different camera that really is on the pro level.

Have used the camcorder for over 3 years, our retired community video club owns two of them. Has great picture quality in good lighting, rivals my 3CCD Cannon GL-2. The Panasonic does a decent job on lower lighting situations. I frequently use it to partner up with my Cannon GL-2 for the second camera shots. Only had one of the 2 Pansonics needed repairs to the tape motor mechanism, the other same model Panasonic in our inventory, has not needed repairs, in those same three years of very frequent club use. Our clients are impressed when we show up with the large Panasonic. It is easy to operate. I would buy another one. It seems to take small abuses well, it is used by serveral different club members, so you know that it has had bumps and small drops. The handle is very handy to carry the camcorder around and to take low shots as we walk around, you could not do that with non-handle type camcorders. On the bad side of this review, I noticed that in lower light situations with long shots, if the subject walked to the edge of your shooting view screen, the camcorder would go out of focus, then to compensate I would have to move the subject back into the center of the shot. So, in the low light situations, the camera is fooled and goes out of focus on the subject and focuses on the background.

I purchased this cam as my first and frontline camera for use in weddings, shows, and other events. To me, it is very lightweight. Picks up the slightest movement. The mic is very sensitive... picks up the noise from your tripod when moving seriously. As for picture quality, its great when shot outdoors or with strong indoor lighting. Otherwise, in darkened areas or low light venues good luck! Don't use the internal 'Gain Up' feature because it shuts your focus off automatic and you'll never know if your picture is in focus until you view the tape.

As far as using the camera.. it is very easy to work with. There aren't many complicated menu screens and limited external buttons. Beware of the 'photo shot' button which sometimes can be confused with the 'record' button. Why CCD cameras have a 'photo' option on a video camera is beyond me thats what DSLRs are for.

You may want to drill a hole and fill the camera with sand to weigh it down some more (wife's idea and I agree). It may produce stable pictures.
