New KAMERAR 11" Stainless Tough Friction Arm

New KAMERAR 11' Stainless Tough Friction ArmThis works ok for light use. It is pretty stable in the 'angular' direction but is weak in the 'rotational' direction if that makes any sense. Where the black arms meet the stainless ends is the weak linkit tends to rotate easily if much weight is applied in an off-center direction. I can get it to lock in but I have to tighten it very very hard. The build quality is great and I would purchase another if this issue were addressed. This is based on first 3 uses. I hope it may improve after a break-in period.

Does just what it says, and when you tighten down, it is solid. I used it (with a second arm attached to the hot shoe) to mount a 5D with a full sized lens to a helmet, successfully. No shake or droop.

I have a lot of arms bogen-manfrottos (large, single and double arms) and a few of the cheaper Chinese units like this one. There is no comparison between the quality of any of the others compared to this one. While its new and I don't know how well it will wear, I have never seen a clamp that clamped so solidly. No need to turn the handle with pliers to keep the arms and end-swivels tight. It works like a tool should. The fit and finish are excellent. And, it comes laid out in a piece of foam perfectly cut out for the unit. Someone in China has figured out how to do it right and they have priced it fairly.

I bought the 7" and the 11" and both are more than I expected for the price. I did buy them on sale. Not much more to say other than I was not disappointed with the quality or the functionality. Recommended for those with, and without, unlimited budgets.

Yep it's true. Very solid aluminum construction and works great. Nice finish. Will hold a heavy load and not move at all.

Fujifilm FinePix F750EXR Digital Camera (Red)

Fujifilm FinePix F750EXR Digital Camera4-stars for camera design and still image quality, 1 star for video.

I have tested and compared images, video, features, and usability for all the top ultra-zoom compacts including Fuji F770EXR/F750EXR, Canon SX260HS, Sony HX9V, Panasonic ZS-15 and ZS-19/20. This was the last camera I compared and I was expecting to really like it as Image Quality is my first priority criteria, followed by video, then features/usability. Here's my main takeaways:

Well lit, ISO 100-200 shots: Fuji gets 3rd place. Canon SX260HS has best detail with least noise. Panasonic ZS-15/19/20 are next best with slightly better detail than Fuji with a tiny more noise. Sony ties for 3rd with Fuji with slightly less detail and noise (Sony has the most agressive noise reduction of the 4 so there is a little bit more detail smearing.)

Fuji is almost unusable for video. When you pan the camera the video stutters. Even worse, when you zoom, camera has MAJOR problems focusing to the point the camera will not focus properly at all most of the time beyond 7X zoom. The lens motor is also the most audible out of all the 4 cameras. Panasonics you can barely hear the lens. Sony wins with Panasonics coming in a close second.

Low-light / High ISO: Fuji comes in second. Sony wins. Panasonics come in third images are unusable beyond ISO 800, too much yellow color splotching all over. At ISO 400, it is practically a tie between Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony. At crazy ISO 1600 and up, Fuji wins with usable images (barely) followed by Sony but you really can't expect much from these small cameras with small sensors at those kind of ISOs.

Flash: Fuji comes in third. Very strange flash that only pops up manually (which has its benefits). You must press tiny button on side of camera really hard. Flash is not motorized and it looks like a part of the camera that could easily break in the future. Flash is underpowered compared to the other cameras.

Design/Usability/Software Fuji is heaviest of the 4 cameras but has a nice rubberized feeling body finish. Panasonic is amazingly small. Sony in-between. All of them have different styles of software. Panasonic has best set of software features. Sony very limited in scene modes. Fuji has nice software but many of the options are locked out when in any mode other than manual. Panasonic's wins as far as the Intelligent Auto function. Very reliable. Canon had troubles focusing sometimes.

Overall, Panasonic wins. Fuji would be a close second, tied with Sony if the video wasn't so terrible. Search YouTube for videos including this example:

I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews on this product, and wondering if the folks who had problems somehow landed with defective models. My experience has been pretty flawless from day one. I bought this camera as an add-on to my usual DSLR; I was looking for a pocket-sized camera with a great zoom (this one had markedly better range than other pocket cameras I tested) and a nice variety of auto, semi-auto, and manual features to play with.

One of the features some of the reviews took exception to was the push-button flash. I can understand the concern about breakage, but I've used this little guy for over 5 months now in less-than-delicate conditions and haven't had an issue. I actually like the manual nature of the flash, as it's an easy way to get a "flash" photo -or turn off the flash -without fiddling with the settings menu.

It's been very good with rapid response in turning on/off, the menus are relatively intuitive, and some of the menu options -such as the panorama setting -are outstanding. I've taken some of the most beautiful landscape shots with this tiny camera, many of which rival even those taken with my Canon.

Is there some noise? Yes. I also have noticed that in automatic settings, outdoor pictures tend to be a bit blown out and overexposed. I deal with that either in Photoshop/Lightroom, or by switching to a manual setting and adjusting ISO from there.

The other little quibble I have it that when the zoom is maxed out, autofocus doesn't work. You have to pull back slightly on the zoom to activate the autofocus. Other than that, I haven't experienced the loss of focus or the problem with tracking focus that another reviewer mentioned.

Is it perfect? No. But for the price, it's a great little camera for travel or for everyday shutterbug adventures when a big DSLR is too much to pack along. I'd definitely recommend this purchase.

Buy Fujifilm FinePix F750EXR Digital Camera (Red) Now

I've taken a zillion exposure-bracketed pictures (for subsequent HDR merging) and videos with this little guy and it's been great. It's certainly not perfect, but given the price, I have no regrets. The zoom is outrageously noisy when recording video and the autofocus during zooming is terrible, but I still consider this a great deal and keep it with me at all times. It's my first Fuji product and I've gained enough trust in their technology to start investigating their higher-end cameras.

Hi users and reviewers of this camera:

The blurb above says, "High Speed Continuous Shooting Capture action at almost 8 fps at full 16-megapixel resolution or shoot at 11 fps at 8-megapixel resolution" and the manual on page 47 describes how to do this ... but I only ever got three pics. That's hardly continuous.

So I called customer support and they confirmed that it does not shoot true continuous, just three separate pics with one shutter press.

Can't be true, so I just hit "redial" on the 800 number and this time got somebody who at least cared, and was even knowledgeable.

Continuous does work (albeit with limitations,) but nothing like in the manual ... and really klunky and non-intuitive.

I must admit, I purchased the camera because it was pretty. That being said, I needed a camera with a good zoom and date stamp.

Within a few weeks the lens cover started to stick and my photos had a black spot on the lower right corner. That self corrected after a few days. After 3 months of use the lens went bad-couldn't take any photos at all. I contacted Fuji and since the camera was under warranty they gave me directions to send it in for repair.

After they had the camera for a week, they sent me a bill for $200 to replace the lens. After a lengthy phone conversation with Fuji they fixed the camera under the warranty which we should not have to beg them to do what they promise to do when we purchase these items to begin with. I got the unit back 5 days ago with a different lens on it.

Drove 112 miles to get my photos for work yesterday and guess what?, yes my lens is malfunctioning again. Cost me time and money. I would send it in for repair, but I need to cut my loses now. They can have it back, but I won't spend the $10.00 to ship it back. It's too bad, it sure is pretty.

However, the Olympus cameras do not include that sort of audio plug. You really need to check your camera's actual connectivity specifications before purchasing and before assuming that it's compatible merely because your camera, along with innumerable other models, is listed as being allegedly compatible.

They aren't compatible unless your camera actually includes a 3.5mm audio plug. Also, this requires a hot shoe to mount the microphone and some of the listed cameras do not have a hot shoe.

This is careless, dare I say tacky, advertising claims.

Unfortunately I purchased this at the same time I purchased my EPL-1 camera. I was under the impression from another review that this would be compatible. The EPL-1 and many Olympus cameras use a proprietary input meaning that this microphones 3.5mm jack won't work. Also the unit that I was sent doesn't properly power on and has an overall cheap feeling about it. Instead go with the official Olympus product (see below).

I have an Olympus Evolt EPL-1 and this thing works great. I really don't understand the issue with the other review. It is small enough not to weigh down the camera but big enough to give you great sound. Mounting was pretty fast and easy. The shipping was great since I got this directly from the seller and not amazon. I would say this is the nicest shotgun mic I have had. Would recommend again.

ViewSonic PJD5523w WXGA DLP Projector - 720p, HDMI, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR, 120Hz/3D Ready, Speaker

ViewSonic PJD5523w WXGA DLP Projector - 720p, HDMI, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR, 120Hz/3D Ready, Speaker
  • WXGA 1280x800 DLP Projector, 2700 ANSI Lumens, 3000:1 DCR; HDMI input connectivity, 120Hz/3D-Ready powered by TI DLP Link, Supports HD 720p/1080i/1080p
  • Requires the ViewSonic VP3D1 3D Video Processor to convert 3D HD formats to display on ViewSonic 3D-Ready or DLP Link 3D-Ready projectors with HDMI
  • Multiple inputs: Dual RGB in, HDMI, composite, s-video, RGB out, audio in/out, RS232, Apple Mac compatible, 1.2x optical zoom lens
  • Integrated Speaker 1w, Digital keystone correction +/- 40°, Portable lightweight 5.7 lbs
  • Lamp life: 4000/6000 (Normal/Eco), Eco Mode for energy savings, longer lamp life and reduced noise, Remote control with batteries included

I purchased this projector for use in a home theater setting. I use it on a projector screen that has enough space for about a 55" display size and it looks amazing. Picture is crisp and colors are vibrant. On eco mode it works very well in a well lit room and looks even better in a dark room. Auto input selection is nice so you can just plug anything into it and it will automatically select the source along with auto screen aspect selection (if you enable these options). After reading a review that someone was unable to use their Windows 7 PC with it, I connected my Windows 7 laptop both through the VGA inputs and through the HDMI inputs and both worked perfectly. Obviously the other review where the user says this does not work with Windows 7 doesn't know how to use their PC / Projector (it's easy plug and play). At 720p resolution, it looks just as good as a 1080p TV I have in another room. Additionally, the warranty is a lot better than most projectors (3 years parts/labor and 1 year on the lamp whereas most only offer 1 year on everything).

Cons: (very little, but if I had to pick something...)

The built-in speaker is mono sound only, so some things might not sound right through the built in sound. The speaker does get loud enough to be adequate, but you shouldn't expect much from the single built in speaker it has. Hooking up a pair of external PC speakers to the audio output greatly improves the sound quality.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

FOLLOW UP after 11 months of ownership:

Something I realized long after this purchase that I think is important to mention is that this projector DOES NOT support HDCP video through the HDMI port. This translates to some Blu-ray discs not being able to play in HD. In my home theater setup, this is not an issue because I use an Xbox 360 to stream most of my content and video game systems seem to work fine. However, if you must have the ability to play HDCP video content, you might want to consider Viewsonic's PRO line of projectors that are designed for home theater and support HDCP (as far as I know). Other than that, the projector has been working great almost a year after ownership.

This projector is really amazing. I'm an IT guy, so I see a lot of projectors in and out of the office. Finally, I decided, it was time to get one for my home. I couldn't be happier with it. Even though I saw a negative review on Projector Central, suggesting that it was more of a business projector than a home theater projector, I couldn't disagree more. They said there were "rainbow artifacts" on the screen, but I can't see them unless I shake my head vigorously side to side. The brightness is fantastic. It's perfect, because even though it has high lumens, the colours aren't washed out. I don't even project this puppy on a screen. I just use a white wall. Incidentally, it's so great, it even works decently on a blue wall. The menu is easy to navigate, it's sleek and attractive. The only thing that concerns me is that it doesn't have a lens cap. The lens is recessed though, so unless you stick your finger in there, it won't face any abuse.

I've had the projector for 2 months now. I'm quite satisfied with the product considering the price I paid (refurb)

Here's actual breakdown of real comsumer usecase set up with a home theater, home computer, and an Onkyo multimedia receiver. The unit is mounted on the ceiling 18 feet from the screen in a darkend basement. Actual projection footprint of screen is 120 inch diagonal on a 4:3 setting.

PRO:

> Color is superior.Great ability to customize contrast, hue, and all sort of projection aspects.

HD conversion is VERY good considering the hoops I had to jump through.

> Its small and lightweight. Easy to mount.

> Interface signal auto-detection is quite convenient.

> Lumens are perfect for a dark basement setup.

> My 18' projection setup actual extends to ~145 inch diagonal on letter box but I can't install a larger screen to

accommodate.

> Great coverage with factory remote and Harmony remote. 45 degrees plus.

> Composite to RGB interface supports HDMI quite well. Why am I doing this? Read on...

CON:

> The projector is HDMI 1.4 only! It is not HDMI 1.3 backwards compatible. I have an inwall 1.3 HDMI cable and I

never saw this limitation in the fine print. My Onkyo receiver and bluray player suffers from the limitation. Poor me

but I'll live with it. That means no 3D as a result.

> NO HORIZONTAL KEYSTONE! If you are using this for home theater and have to mount at least 1 foot off perfect center, expect at least a 5 inch skew.

> The fan is fairly noisy. More noisy than I expected but I turn up the volume on the movies and I don't notice it.

> There is a rainbow effect, however, I hardly notice it except for high contrast dark scenes.

I can't beat the price for the quality of the picture. I'm sticking with it for now and I'm living with composite cabling conversion having to

avoid tearing out my ceiling to install HDMI 1.4 cabling.

---------------------------------------------------

SIX MONTHS SINCE HAVING IT 130 HOURS INTO SERVICE

---------------------------------------------------

So I'm not a big in-season football fan. I usually will watch the games on my regular flat screen upstairs. Since my team made it to the playoffs this year, I started to watch the playoffs in the basement on the projector.

The first thing to note is that 1080P displayed via WXGA projectiopn isn't comparable to flatscreen 1080P. Not a huge issue. I pretty much knew this doing the research but going on a great deal for this projector.

What I "DO" notice that I didn't expect to see is the high pixelation the faster the action shots were during the football game.

Fast running shots or panning against all the colors and shapes in the crowd, the screen refresh rate in the project is challenged. I think it must be screen refresh compatability conflict with the cable box. It has to be as standard movies through CD and Bluray look great.

Still love it for the price I got, however, I can't increase the star rating to "four" from "three" from teh perspective of a cable TV consumer perspective. The HDMI1.4 limitation I ran into and the absense of horizontal keystone were big limitations preventing me from utilizing a lot of options.

Want ViewSonic PJD5523w WXGA DLP Projector - 720p, HDMI, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR, 120Hz/3D Ready, Speaker Discount?

Have had this projector for about a month and used it quite extensively for movies and computer display. Here are some thoughts on a projector that makes it seem like you're in a theatre; not a hyper contrasty digital theatre but a good old fashioned film reel theatre.

-out of the box the colour setting were horrible; over saturated reds mostly and yellow flesh tones, no contrast in mid-tones, overly bright and grey is the new black.

-With adjustment (there is very detailed in projector controls; search for the manual PDF to see) on the projector and running through OSX's colorsync software, I produced a very good result one user setting for daytime, one for at night (in the end, pulled up a stock image I found and tweaked until I was satisfied.)

-daytime is OK but washed out; much detail is lost but you can see the picture in a sunlit house (good for youtube and the news).

-nighttime viewing is astounding. You will not appreciate this unless you have 720P or higher content to watch. You will not get the same contrast as a LED TV, but it feels like a movie theatre. The detail is astounding, 13 foot throw distance, about 100 inch 'screen' (white wall). Zoom is turned minimal to preserve brightness; I keep on saying WOW!

-Blacks are "good" to "very good" I'd say (compared to review websites w images of much pricier 1080p projectors), but took some fiddling to get there (contrast and brightness controls)

-All preset colour modes are lame, unless its day time and you want 'brightest'; although view match tries to give accurate colors, it greys everything out.

-there IS a slight difference in brightness across the screen (top right is dim) but this is only noticeable with non-moving monochromatic images.

-never could 'exactly' match colours on my MBP display to the screen, but i'm projecting it onto a white paint wall. probably not white, probably just primer and dirty old primer at that.

-some uncertainty of how (accurately) super fast action is displayed as my eyes catch a bit of jerkiness (back in the day anything CRT under 85hz hurt my eyes), but the HDMI connection seems to display each frame that it should; with most files 30 frames per second, this sometimes is jerky movement; again, like a theatre not digital TV.

-I didn't notice any rainbow, unless wildly moving my head (not just eyes) around, and then just on very contrasty scenes (i.e torch in darkness)

-on my Mac (and iPad) I have yet to figure out 120Hz refresh; it's stuck to 60hz via HDMI or VGA. (haven't tried w PC, no response from Viewsonic support)

-the fan is noticeable when the projector is two-three feet from your ear. otherwise, medium volume TV/movies drown it out.

-overall, amazing cost/value to watch big screen entertainment. It will broadcast how crap your media files are across 100 inches; say hello to HD upgrade fees or extra bandwidth downloads.

Contrast isn't amazing, but the warranty is; The equivalent Optoma seems to have some problems once it hits a year with pixels dying check the 'updated' reviews here on Amazon. I haven't seen the Optoma 66 in action, but am happy with my purchase of "OK" contrast ratio and "great" life expectancy. Will never buy a TV again.

The project, was priced to go, Once receiving the product, hooking it up was easy and instructions were easy to read. Once turning on the projector, you can tell it was much brighter than our old one. The resolution and the crispness of the display were awesome. This is a great projector for anyone looking for a good office demonstration or conference room projector.

Fujifilm FinePix HS30XR 16 MP Digital Camera Accessory Saver 16GB Bundle !!! (Black)

Fujifilm FinePix HS30XR 16 MP Digital Camera Accessory Saver 16GB Bundle !!!My purchase of the Fujifilm FinePix HS30EXR 16MP Digital Camera with Accessory Bundle was what I expected with the camera.

When the box arrived, I opened it immediately since a corner of the box was bent inward, I was worried! I found the 16GB memory card was missing from the boxed bundle pack of accessories that I had purchased. So I called the supplier (Big Value, Inc.) and they shipped a replacement without any trouble. I also let them know that the box that was delivered was smashed on one corner and that they needed to let the delivery department know that more protective stuffing needed to be put in their boxes before delivery. Then I went through everything in the bundle pack.

1) This FujiFilm Finepix HS30EXR 16MP digital (bridge) camera with extended zoom is of very high quality. I have spent some time playing with it and becoming acquainted with some of the basic features, as I am not familiar with advanced digital features yet. I found thru reading the digital manual from the supplied CD that this camera is very sensitive to lower and higher temperatures. So if you are thinking of purchasing this camera, make certain you read the manual on the CD. It is very helpful so that you don't harm this quality camera. I still have much to learn about this very nice camera but I am VERY PLEASED with this digital camera purchase. I think YOU will, also.

2) The purchased 16 GB Memory Card and Bundle Pack:

A: The 16GB SDHC Memory Card: Once the supplier sent me a new card, after the original one was not found in the delivered box, I tested it and found it to be of sufficient quality. It gets FIVE STARS!

B: The Full Size Photo and Video Tripod: IS OF VERY CHEAP PLASTIC AND NOT GOOD QUALITYI give it a sub-standard ONE STAR!--This Tripod shouldn't even be in the bundle pack. Or the supplier should offer one made of composite materials or metal. SUB-STANDARD-ONE STAR!

C: The 3-pack 58mm Multi Coated Filter Kit (UV, Florescent, Polarizer): These are of High Quality with a felt-lined case. I am very impressed with them. They alone get Five Stars!

D: The USB SDHC Memory Card Reader: I haven't had to use it yet but it is an added feature for someone who might need it. It appears to be of good quality. Since it hasn't been tested yet, I give it FOUR STARS for appearance alone.

E: The Padded Carrying Case w/Strap: This case with strap just barely fits the FujiFilm Finepix HS30EXR 16MP camera and not much else. This case is TINY for a camera case. A larger case should have been supplied. But this little case and strap are of GOOD QUALITY and get FOUR STARS. It would get FIVE stars had it been larger.

F: The Memory Card Wallet: Is small but sufficient. It gets FOUR STARS.

G: The Pack of LCD Screen Protectors : Are of GOOD QUALITY and more than enough to cover not just my FujiFilm Finepix 16 MP HS30EXR digital (bridge) camera but also other electronics I own! They get FIVE STARS from me. They are necessary.

H: The Lens/LCD Cleaning Kit: Is of GOOD QUALITY and necessary. It gets FIVE STARS.

I: The Mini Table Top Tripod: Is of GOOD QUALITY and gets FIVE STARS.

I really like this bridge camera and have had a lot of fun with it since I bought it. Wasn't all that thrilled with the extras it came with, but I kind of knew what to expect so the price made up for that stuff. This is just my personal preference since I am partial to this brand. It has some quirks that Fuji products are known to have, but overall the photos are pretty darn good right off the camera. Like anything else, it takes time to learn the equipment. If you are willing to do that and give it a chance, I think you will be happy with your choice.

No its not a dslr but it is the closest you can get without spending 1000s on all the annoying accessories. You really won't be disappointed.

Nikon Deluxe Digital SLR Camera Case - Gadget Bag with Nikon 60" Tripod + Cleaning Kit for D7000, D

Nikon Deluxe Digital SLR Camera Case - Gadget Bag with Nikon 60' Tripod + Cleaning Kit for D7000, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100, D800, D90, D60, D40 & D4The bag is mainly what I wanted. I found it at a local big box electronics store for the same price as I paid for the bag and tripod here on Amazon.

The bag is exactly what I wanted, the tripod is not what I would call "heavy duty" but will suffice. It appears to be fairly sturdy. The legs lock into place quickly and securely.

The head has the usual quick release if you don't mind leaving the hardware attached to your camera. And it is tall enough I don't have to look like the hunch-back of Notre Dame when looking through the view finder.

If I were using larger, heavier lenses, then I would want something with more heft. This will be a good light tripod to take hiking once I find a carrying bag. I'm happy with it.

Great buy for the money !

Love the bag and all of the cleaning gadgets. I haven't used the camera stand yet but it looks easy to use.

Epson PowerLite 1915 Business ProjectorPurchased this little beauty in the spring and have used it for presentations for the most part. I was amazed at the colour reproduction and brightness it kicks out. Aside from having to figure out a couple of networking challenges (my fault, not the projectors) this baby performs great. The remote could have slightly larger buttons but since I use my own Logitech remote its not a problem for me. Two thumbs up so far.
