I am permanently disabled and can't hold a camera steady enough to get in-focus pictures. I've used a monopod before with good results, but they can be awkward to carry and maneuver. This little gem provides the necessary bracing mechanism, while still allowing me to have the camera hang around my neck. Its easy to put on and take off (like when a tripod is the needed support), and the strap it comes with isn't necessary for the full support to be realized.
