Wanscam Ip Camera AJ-C0WA-C116 Wifi IR CUT Wireless 20 Meter Night Vision and 6mm Lens Waterproof O

Wanscam Ip Camera AJ-C0WA-C116 Wifi IR CUT Wireless 20 Meter Night Vision and 6mm Lens Waterproof Outdoor Use1st off.. due to Sandy the Storm, it took a little longer to get my product. With that said, setting up this cam was faster than light.. ok it wasn't that fast but with the included ( lacks paper manual) CD and PDF user/setup manual even you could set this up pretty damn fast.

Once you get it hooked up thru your modem / router and follow the PDF, i was able to see my video on my computer... Then disconnected it from the router and the wireless took over and still was connected.

I had even disconnect the power to install the camera on a pan & tilt device i had from x10 cameras and reconnected and it still was working wirelessly.

Once you download the setup software, then the search tool on your computer, it easy found my cams / router info automatic. I'm using a Arris 3.0 modem with a Linksys E2500 router.

You may not like the 36 leds for night vision. They are red and VERY NOTICEABLE to anyone at night. Good or Bad, depends on if you want people to know you're WATCHING.

Unless you have a outlet for power within 3 ft where you will mount the cam, plan on buying either an POWER ADAPTER ( AMAZON 2.1mm X 5.5mm DC Plug Extension Cable for Power Adapter, 25 Feet) for getting power or a POE ( power over ethernet PoE Injector/Splitter with 3.5 mm x 1.35 mm DC Size Connector) kit and CAT CABLING.

Purchase again. YES

never got a chance to try it.maybe next time try a deferent shipper instead of UPS . OH ,THATS RIGHT THERE WILL NOT BE A NEXT TIME....

Olympus T10 Black 10MP Digital Camera

Olympus T10 Black 10MP Digital CameraMy canon camera that i was using previously broke, and money being tight this is the camera i could afford. I knew with it being a $50 camera (the amount i paid) I couldn't expect it to behave like my more expensive canon. My first thought when i took it out of the box was that it felt really plastic-y and cheap. I put the AA batteries (which BTW did not bother me, since my canon used AAs) took a picture of my daughter and was happy with the results. In fact the next month i took it with us on vacation and had no complaints about the quality of photos. Then the pictures started getting darker and darker. It was like the flash was going. toward the end if the pictures were taken outdoors on a clear sunny day they looked great. But indoor pictures were dark, as if i had taken them without the flash.

This camera also has video, but no sound on playback. When you download it to your computer though there will be sound. You just can't listen to it on the actual camera. You can zoom in and out during video recording. It took me a while to figure out the right mode for this. On one of the modes it won't allow zooming. (i wish i could tell you which mode, but my camera is broke now). Which brings us to my camera's end. A couple of days ago the battery compartment broke, so the batteries won't stay in. I suppose i could just tape it closed, but i don't feel like re-taping it every time i need to change the batteries. All together it lasted me about 11 months.

This camera is all I expected it to be for the price, only drawback is the use of AA batteries other than that is a nice camera for kids or for places or situations you don't want to bring your good camera with you.

I've had this camera several months and have never been so frustrated. I operated my last digital camera with no problems and edited images just fine. But this camera is ridiculously complex and the manual is absurd. Get this -I'm a Technical Writer with a master's degree and I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE MANUAL IS SAYING. I'd buy another camera but I don't want to spend the money.

If you're planning on buying this camera, I suggest that you look at the manual online before purchasing it. Wish I had. I would never have purchased it. Beware!!

Toshiba Camileo P100 HD Camcorder with 5x Optical Zoom and 3-Inch LCD Screen (Black)

Toshiba Camileo P100 HD Camcorder with 5x Optical Zoom and 3-Inch LCD ScreenI'm on my 3rd Toshiba camcorder. I'm having problems with it. It's also defective and I'll be returning it just like I have the past two that were defective. It's very clear this company is knowingly selling a defective product. It freezes up and will not shut down until the battery is drained. The same problem has happened on the previous two. I've asked for a refund ... they give a coupon for the same product. I have to go to the post office, stand in a line, pay for the postage, pay the tax on each each returned unit and deal with an outsourced customer service rep who barely can speak english. I forgot to mention how long a person must wait for their phone to be answered. If anyone would ever suggest that this company is legitimate they are in dreamland or a paid reviewer. A nightmare purchase ... an uncaring company who hides from complaints. The worst product I ever purchased. Shame on Toshiba for knowingly and deliberately dumping their mistake on the public. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Did not work out of the box. I ordered this and tried to cancel when I read the many, many bad reviews and when it arrived I used the quick start guide and it did not work. Turned on, tried to ficus and locked up and had a ticking sound. Junk. Returned for a refund. Do not recommend this or any Toshiba product.

Done. Well, almost. My story begins on Fathers day 2011. My beautiful wife buys me a Toshiba S20 from Amazon. I read the specs and i was in heaven! Slow motion? Time Lapse? HD? Several other wonderful options and all packaged in a small handheld device!? Thank God for Toshiba!lol Maybe I celebrated too soon...

1) It worked decently enough but didn't come with all the accesories promisedso I have to file a claim with Toshiba because they can't send me the acc. (mini tripod, case, all of which was right there on there website saying it was included.) so I do but I have to pay for shippingsmall price to pay if they're going to fix the problem right? They email me a Toshiba in store coupon for $200+!! Wow I thought!

2)So I upgraded to the S30. Waited weeks and then it came....the S30 was aweful! It came with the acc. but the slow motion was HORRENDOUS! It was pixalatedit was zoomed in so much that you had to stand 300' to tape your subject! Spoke to Toshiba for hours it seemsthey tell me create another RMAsend it back. Shipped again on my dime...get the email Toshiba in store coupon for $209.00by that time the P100 had just came out. Surely they have to have the bugs fixed in this by now right? Waited for weeks and a few phone calls to Toshiba who claimed they never received ituntil I got the US Postal service to provide them proof it was delivered! (get insurance and delivery confirmation people!)

3) The Mother of All GodForsaken camcorders has arrived! After much anticipation and hope waiting on this P100I would love to say Toshiba got it right! But sadlynot so much. The design is beautiful as far as handhelds go. As much as it pained me to do so, because i wanted so badly to play with my new toy, I charged it first. Turned the unit on and I immediately started taping and it takes fairly good video. Tried to replay it and the unit froze up on me. WHAT??? WaitI haven't even seen the slow motion yet! Took the battery out (pretty sure that is a crappy way to have to restart your camcorderengineers are you taking notescrappy way!lol) and went to the flaw in the S30 that I wanted so badly fixed...same thing! Way pixalated and overzoomed! (Maybe Toshiba shouldn't hire engineers with big coke bottle glasses to design their products anymore!). Bravely marched ontried to make a video of the kids and I doing the yard with the time lapseand 40 min. later checked the camera to find out it froze 10 min into the video. Tried to view the vid but, DUH!, the cam was frozen! So out pops the battery! (crappy procedure engineers!) and the video is gone. UHG! Thank you Toshiba for making me want to do the yardbut you stink for the dissappointed kids faces I got when I told them their funny video didn't work! FrustratedI decided to try the little camcorder again since it hadn't messed up in a week or so (we optimist are so ready to forgive...idiots more like it!) so I take my anger out on an old wall clock! Who doesn't like to destroy things when they're angy right? But better yetdestroy in SLOW MOTION? Oh yeah! Set up like 50' from the clock on the wall (I assume that's how far the coke bottle glasses engineers on crack stood for their tests) and pitch at the clock with various objects! MISSED! Missed! Missed again! Each time checking the unit battery and resultsworking perfectly fine except for the middle aged guy's pitching armno fault of Toshiba. Last try..I HIT IT!! What an explosion of plastic pieces! Parts flying everywhere!Giddy I run to my camcorder only to find the Satan Spawn Camorder had froze again!!!! Tried for an 20 minutes to retrieve the movie without reseting the batteryno luck. Took a deep breath and prayed for a good out comeout pops the battery! (sounds like a good Toshiba nursery rhyme!lol) Movie gone. wonderful.

4) Sitting here at my desk and I've just sent in for another RMA... going to give Toshiba one last chancewish me luck! (I know....S-U-C-K-E-R!lol)

Nikon 1 J3 14.2 MP HD Digital Camera with 10-100mm VR 1 NIKKOR Lens (Beige)

Nikon 1 J3 14.2 MP HD Digital Camera with 10-100mm VR 1 NIKKOR LensFive stars for the excellent photo quality, usability, lightness of the camera and ease of interchanging lenses. I am by no means a professional photographer but decided to step up the quality of photos from my old point and shoot digital camera. After taking a variety of photos and video with this camera over the course of an hour or so the quality of both are incredible and I found the camera very simple to use. It does have a steep price tag but for me it is an excellent camera! I will miss the gps capabilities of my old camera, but the higher quality pics make the trade off worth it for me.

I own a Nikon DSLR with some lenses and I would rank myself as an amateur photographer, mainly focused on travel and family (my 3year old son mostly) photos. Both are areas in which the camera really excelled my expectations.

First, the camera is, if I can call it, a "small DSLR" in terms of capabilities. Second, with the FT-1 mount (too expensive, but cheaper than having to buy extra lenses), it is compatible with my Nikkor lenses. Third, the super-fast focus which is great for capturing my son's deeds, especially with the Best Moment Capture Mode (Great feature!!!). Finally, it is light, small and always at hand (the main problem with my big DSLR). So, if you own a Nikon DSLR it is a sure purchase.

I purchased this camera because I wanted something better than my cell phone that would be compact to carry around. This camera is about the size of a compact point and shoot without the lens attached and with the lens, it's not much bigger. You get SLR quality photos in a package that's a lot smaller. The only drawback to the camera is the auto-focus doesn't offer much versatility. The camera's AF will focus on whatever is the closest thing in the frame. It makes it a little more difficult to produce the artistic, background in focus, subject blurred and vice versus type pictures. But since it does have AF, it's a great camera for those looking for more than a compact point and shoot but don't need or want the bulk of a DSLR.

Panasonic Pro AG-HSC1U AVCHD 3CCD Flash Memory Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom

Panasonic Pro AG-HSC1U AVCHD 3CCD Flash Memory Camcorder with 12x Optical ZoomI'm an editor by trade, so for me the work flow and support for this format was very important. If you work with iMovie use of this footage is fast and seamless. And if you prefer Final Cut Pro (as I do) it works flawlessly with that as well now, providing you have the current FCP 6 (which is part of the Studio 2 release). So where some have complained about being able to edit with this format, I don't see that as a problem anymore.

The included battery powered HD works great (it's larger then it looks in the picture though). It's a great way to download your footage while you shoot. It works well.

The image quality is amazing. Really amazing. My previous camera was a Sony DV Camera (just a consumer model) and it was great but this is so much better.

The camera is very easy to use and you get used to just having it with you. I take it to more locations then I normally would, which means I actually shoot more footage.

One thing to consider in the big picture is where you will store all of this footage. Because I already work with tapeless footage at my office I have the necessary hardware to not only edit with the footage, but also back it up for long term archival purposes. If you don't have this, you will probably want to get the optional DVD burner that allows you to burn a card directly to a DVD. But even DVD is not a good long term solution. Personally I use LTO-3 tapes because they have a 30 year shelf life, but this is not something most consumers will have. Blue-ray is probably another good format to back up to. The point being, don't just think about how easy it is to shoot, think about the whole process from editing to final long term storage of your footage. This way of working does require a little more work along the way to stay organized and to be able to find your footage.

I purchased this model over the 5 or 1 model (I can't remember the rest of the letters but if you've been looking at this camera you probably know what i"m talking about) mainly because of two reasons. One is that it has a line in for a wireless mic, which was important to me even if I don't use a wireless mic all the time. Also, the gamma of this camera is better matched to Panasonic P2 cameras, making it a slightly (and I do mean slightly) better choice if you need to match this footage to a more professional camera.

I hope this information has been helpful to you.

Update Saturday; January 26, 2008 If you would like to see a sample video that was cut from the footage shot with this camera, use the link below. Keep in mind this is not the full quality, but you'll see how sharp the picture actually is. It also shows how weak the camera is in low light situations.

Having previous extensive experience with other panasonic professional camcorders, I knew this one would be no less than amazing. I rate it a full five stars. It has outstanding image quality, ease of editing with iMovie '09 and FCP, small form factor, and it uses SDHC cards which are readily available. This camcorder does not disappoint. The outstanding image quality is nothing short of fantastic. There is fineness in detail. When shooting into bright light, it compensates very effectively so everything is naturally exposed. Using standard cinematography techniques, there is a film-like quality that looks fabulous. Hint: in bright sunlight always use ND and polarizer filters. This camera turns on instantly and is ready to shoot. It has a good selection of manual controls. Sadly, there is no manual focusing ring. I use a step up ring to use readily available 49mm and larger filters. Battery life is a little over an hour but get another two or threethat goes without saying better safe than sorry when you are in the wild. This camcorder is small, lightweight and easy to operate. I use it handheld with a flash bracket or bean bag. For the best image quality use a smooth fluid head on top of a heavy tripod. The built in OIS works great for handheld use. I like the variable speed zoom servo. I can get silky slow motion zooms and fast ones if needed. It is still photo capable and I have used it but it's of lesser importance to me. It's small enough to tape outside on a car, truck, motorcycle or ATV for getting great camera angles.

Perhaps the best part is that it records 1080i/60 directly onto SDHC cards. No tape mechanism to jam. Check footage in camera and delete instantly what you don't like. Place the card in your laptop for fast and easy transfer. As previously mentioned iMovie '08 and '09, Final Cut Express 4, Final Cut Studio 3, Adobe Premiere CS3, and other software titles work flawlessly in handling the AVCHD footage. Editing is quick and easy. The package comes with a handy self-powered 40gb HD for transferring footage in the field from the SDHC card. Very thoughtful of Panasonic to include this. It means you only need one or two cards to shoot with. An 8gb card will hold 83 minutes of HD footage or a 16gb card will allow you to shoot for two hours and twenty minutes. And you can use 32gb SDHC cards as well for even longer shoots. Again, don't forget spare batteries! The 3" LCD viewfinder is large and bright. I have no trouble using it on the brightest of sunlit days. The 5.1 audio is a bonus and does an excellent job when shooting interviews and outdoor nature footage. Using this camcorder is a pleasure.

Buy Panasonic Pro AG-HSC1U AVCHD 3CCD Flash Memory Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom Now

The AG-HSC1U is a VERY small camcorder, for my particular use the size and solid-state recording was a big part of the choice.

Once in use the camcorder impressed with beautiful pictures, however for interviews one need to mount a bracket to hold the microphone, I got one with 2 shoe mounts for a video light to pop the faces and also a microphone, it would be nice to have a headphone jack, but there is no such thing, instead there is a recording level indicator on the screen, I was a bit apprehensive about this starting out, but in practical everyday use this works well.

This camcorder is a "Pro" version of the older Panasonic SD1 camera, the colors have been tweaked to match the look of other professional cameras, this works well and I find the shots to play nicely with much more expensive panasonic pro cameras.

Unlike most serious camcorders this camera is mostly menu driven, there is no exposure-compensation. however there is a small joystick which makes it easy to adjust the lighting. the most common used adjustments are accessed by sliding the mode slider to Manual and then pressing the joystick once, this will let you toggle through the settings one at a time, you can select a option by moving the cursor sideways once selected you can move sideways to increase or decrease a setting such as aperture, gain, or shutter speed, press downwards to exit a option. in practical use this works easy and are simple to figure out, I use the aperture all the time and it is the first option when I turn on manual because it was used last. The camera have zebra stripes so it is easy to judge exposure.

The camera could possible have a bit more dynamic range, but I have not found it being a problem, I typically shoot outdoors interviews with a graduated ND filter to control the sky and use a reflector to pop some light in the top of the face which also is in the ND filter, the result look great and do not look like something from a cheap camcorder.

The lens is longer than the other SD cameras with 12x zoom, which really is about as long as you can hold still any way, I use this camera mostly on monopod or handheld in the cockpit of airplanes. The lens is sharp and with no vignetting.

The AVCHD files edits well with Vegas Pro 8, I have not tried the economy compression and only use the best quality setting which looks beautiful on the screen. A added bonus is the 40gig portable harddrive which ships with this camera model, the drive is battery powered and I have successfully dumped 5 days worth of cards to the drive with no recharge required.

Generally the camera performs well and overall I am very pleased with this purchase, it plays well with other cameras and I am about to pick up a second for the company. In my personal opinion this camera is highly recommended as long as you realize that have have some limitations it will serve you well and deliver images you can use for production. Ultimately, only you can determine if this camera will "do the trick" for you, based on your needs and the performance vs price of the camera, you can find larger cameras with more features at the same price, but they are pretty darn hard to stuff in the pocket in the cockpit.

The AG-HSC1UP is easy to use, light and compact, and takes great video. Transferring AVCHD footage from the camcorder itself to a Mac is a breeze. Do note that if you transfer video from the camcorder to the included portable Hard Disk Drive (VW-PT2), and then try to transfer those clips from the HDD to a Mac for editing in Final Cut, it can be confusing. Here's a solution:

Connect the portable hard disk drive to computer using USB cable and turn on the HDD. Icon "untitled" will appear on desktop.

Open Final Cut. Click Final Cut in menu bar > System Settings > Scratch Disks. Click "Set". Then select destination folder (for example user name > document > Final Cut Documents > new folder (and name the new folder). Then also click "Set" for Waveform Cache, Thumbnail Cache, and Autosave Cache.

Then on the menu bar, click File > Log and Transfer. When new screen appears, click icon "Add Folder" in upper left corner. then click "Untitled" icon > Pana > 080311_1 (or whatever number appears). Click Open. Drag clip from "Name" to "Untitled Project 1" where it says "Drag Media Here".

The next time you open Final Cut, click File > Import Files > Documents > Final Cut Documents > Capture Scratch > Untitled Project 1 > and there, by golly, will be Clip #1.mov. Click on Clip #1 (et al) and it will appear in the browser window.

It's easier just to get some extra SDHC cards and forget the HDD.

This camera is EXACTLY the same guts as the HDC-SD1 which costs half as much. Panasonic originally came out with the SD1, then replaced it with a camera with a smaller image sensor and then re-introduced the SD1 with a different color body as the AG-HSC1U. It is a great camera, and I really like it, but if you are thinking of getting this model, first look for the HDC-SD1 and save yourself some dough.

Esky C5900 H.264 IP Camera, Internet WiFi Wireless/Wired, Pan Tilt, 2-way audio, Build-in DVR, Motion triggered, IR cutThe picture quality is outstanding (compared to my other cameras). The setup was relatively easy. The only negative thing I can say (and it's minor) is the monitoring software is not compatible with my other non Esky cameras. Also, it doesn't work well with my android phone app. But these are minor issues because I found a way to work around them. I

I'm returning this product. The hardware seems fine. The problem is the software. The camera resets its position every day, which means that I can't keep it pointed in the direction I want. The software is poorly written, which means I never know when the config has actually taken effect. Example: If you change the admin password (as you should), you're actually limited to something like 8-10 characters. But the interface doesn't tell you this. When I tried to configure a longer password, it took it, but then it wouldn't let me log back in to the admin interface. I had to manually reset the camera to factory defaults in order to get back in.

We have been using the camera for few months and we really like it. There are so many iphone apps that are compatible with it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because sometimes we have to reconfigure it. But to be fair, I am not sure if this is problem with the camera or with the router we are using. Most probably it is the router, but I just wanted to mention it.

Pentax Optio S5z 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom

Pentax Optio S5z 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical ZoomThis camera is TINY with a PLUS-SIZE LCD. As a previous reviewer said, the screen is not quite bright enough in the brightest conditions, but this is a very small price to pay for the convenience and quality this camera.

If you are a serious photographer, this may not be the best choice for a primary camera (ideally you should have a Nikon D50 or Canon Digital Rebel), but it makes a terrific backup camera because it can literally go anywhere--it is the only camera I have ever put in my pocket that is smaller than a cell phone. And if you know what you are doing you can tweak the white balance settings and play with the various modes to take near-pro-quality shots.

I was particularly impressed with the the night scene mode, which allows you to simulate 'slow-sync' flash, and the macro and super macro settings.

Also very cool is the movie mode, which boats 640x480 resolution at 30fps and a time-lapse feature (a little gimmicky but very cool) that allows you to speed up the action by as much as 20x.

The zoom is a little limited (undestandable given its size) but if you always shoot at 5MP you can crop the image (either in the editing mode or in a photo editing program on your computer) to get another 2-3x zoom out of it while retaining 2-3 megapixels, which is more than you need for a 4x6. Under no circumstances, however, should you use the digital zoom feature on this or any other digital camera. Digital zoom is a bogus marketing ploy just like megapixels (it's the size of the sensor that makes the big difference, not the resolution) are--you'll get much better results by cropping the image after you take it.

Two more tips with this camera--always set the ISO to 80, never automatic, unless you really need to shoot in low light without a flash or tripod. And always take the time to set the white balance for each shot whenever possible--it makes a huge difference!

Okay: I have owned the previous Optio S4 and decided to upgrade to the S5Z. I have a couple of observations I would like to share.

PROS:

1) Huge display on S5Z. Really awesome viewing pics and makes composing much easier.

2) I don't think any other point-and-shoot camera has this many shooting modes and options to tweak color/contrast/ISO etc. To get the BEST quality shot, you should really mess with the settings. For example, taking a shot of a mural in the shade, you should up the contrast and saturation manually to get the best colors.

3) The Quick button can be assigned to custom functions for quick adjustments to pictures on-the-fly.

4) 640x480 movie mode with no limitation on max. time. Apparently they expanded the write buffer and created a faster write channel to the flash card that previous models.

5) Price is good and keeps dropping.

6) Really awesome camera for taking SIMPLE shots of everyday life

7) Compact enough to hide and walk around without it being a burden in your pocket.

CONS:

1) The screen, while huge, is a pain to look at in direct bright sunlight, as in, the sun is shining right onto the display. As one reviewer said, almost unusable except in shade / indoor scenarios.

2) The S5Z shares a trait with my other Pentax, the S4. The trait is that when taking pictures that contain BOTH a) bright sunlight and b) a good amount of blue sky the entire photo takes on a bluish/greyish hue. Can't see the effect on the camera's display screen but when put on a monitor it is apparent. For example, taking a picture of a completely white wall with blue sky above it in at least 1/3 of the picture will cause the white wall to take on a bluish hue. If you're taking pictures of people in the water or on/near a beach, the sand and people will take on a bluish hue. The auto white balance does nothing to remedy this; neither does choosing the other white balance options. Seems the image sensor on this and other mini cameras from Pentax are ultra sensitive to blue, causing a washout effect. Doing an auto color balance after downloading onto a PC remedies the effect somewhat.

3) The wash-out effect (when lens is pointed toward the sun) is more pronounced in this camera compared to other cameras. In fact you have to be pointed away from the sun by at least 90 degrees to avoid bad washout (washout is when the foreground/subject is completely dark because of it a bright lightsource in the background) I've taken shots with other point-and-shoot cams with less washout.

4) If you drop this camera while lens is open, the lens assembly is so frail you can kiss your new camera goodbye. It will crack and fall apart. If you drop it while closed, there's a good chance it'll still work (this is from experience). I can't speak for the S5Z (still new) but I've dropped my S4 on the ground at least a dozen times and it still works (sort of)

Buy Pentax Optio S5z 5MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom Now

I am an experienced digital camera user since the times of the Casio QV-10 and my experience with the Optio s5z was excellent. The picture quality is superb for an ultra compact camera, fast focusing, sharp pictures, good contrast. From my point of view there are 2 cons, as all the compact and ultracompact cameras the flash is weak and it is hard to compose the picture under direct sunlight using the lcd display, an optical viewfinder would make it almost perfect.

Concerning the pictures do not forget that when you buy ultra compact or compact camera you get smaller size for less quality pictures.
