Sipix StyleCam Extreme 2.1MP Digital Camera

Sipix StyleCam Extreme 2.1MP Digital CameraThis little camera is great for the person wanting a small, good resolution camera at a good price. The video isn't great. It doesn't zoom. There no audio and you pretty much have to buy the memory card to record anything over 1-2 minutes. It has a timer on it which is nice so you can take picture with people. The flash is BRIGHT. It takes the best pictures in the light. Dark rooms are decent with the flash but you only get what you're shooting at, no background. But I can't stress enough how much you get for [the price]. This is a great camera for traveling.

I bought the camera mainly for email/web sharing of photos for which it seems more than adequate.

Pros:

* USB/PC connection makes downloading pics pretty fast.

* Small and lightweight

* Inexpensive

* Resolution is decent for the price

* Good menu/navigation system makes camera operation easy

Cons:

* No eyepiece to aim camera, so all shots must be framed in the LCD, which can be rather dark for low lighting situations

* Battery life suffers due to the above

* I occasionally lose the USB camera/drive when downloading pics (almost as if the camera goes on standbye). This may be operater error...and I never actually lose any pics.

Overall, well worth the price.

This camera is really tiny and perfect for carrying around. It addition to taking photos it takes quicktime videos. Its fairly simply to understand and has really good quality pictures. Uploading is a breeze, so extreemy easy. I would give it 5 stars if it werent for its memory and battery life compatibility. The camera is a battery eater. I bought it on vacation with me and it was out of batteries within 2 days. Its also a memory eater, if you want good pictures that is. It has an internal memory of 16MB. That takes about 40 good pictures and has about 100 seconds of video. If you buy it I suggest you but the Memory Card for it becuase youll be glad you did. Overall its a good camera and I really enjoy using it.

It's a nice and handy camera, but it has several disadvantages. It works really great outdoors, makes great quality pictures and it is the only camera with 16 MB internal space. The camera also has a quick button to enter the menu and change several important settings right away.

The disatvanges come when you try to take pictures inside. You can adjust the settings to different kinds of lights, but once it's dark your pictures are more likly to not be really good. The flash really sucks and since this camera works only with batteries it really sucks the juice out of them.

But if you only wnat to tkae pictures outside and want to have a good camera for traveling, this is the one for you!

A nice point and shoot camera about the same size as the popular Canon Elphs, I wanted a small inexpensive camera primarily for use at social functions like sporting events or at clubs and restaurants and it really does a great job. There is no optical zoom but I've had new Fuji's and Elphs both break due to their telescoping lens on power up, so you won't have to worry about that with the Sipix. No special batteries, just AA's available anywhere. The flash is bright and doesn't project very far, but just cover it up a bit for close-up shots at night. A very tiny light camera that fits easily in your pocket and I've been impressed with it's picture quality compared to cameras that cost twice as much.

HDMI Cable M-F Extension Gold Plated Connectors 6ft

HDMI Cable M-F Extension Gold Plated Connectors 6ftWhen I got the 6ft HDMI Cable I was worried that it felt thin and cheap, but I have used it now for 3 weeks and I have no problem with the cable, image and sound. I am delighted with my purchase as these cables are much more expensive at the store.

Actually, no it's not even worth the $3. I used this to make my hdmi cable longer for my PS3, and when I plugged it in, the screen flashed, and there was static everywhere. It did not work at all. I thought it might not be super high quality, but it's garbage. Don't buy from this company.

Nikon D3200 Digital SLR Camera & 18-55mm G VR DX AF-S Zoom Lens (Black) + 55-300mm VR Lens + 32

Nikon D3200 Digital SLR Camera & 18-55mm G VR DX AF-S Zoom Lens + 55-300mm VR Lens + 32GB Card + Case + Filters + Tripod + Telephoto & Wide-Angle Lens KitI had a Nikon SLR camera for years until it was stolen while traveling overseas! I love the new upgrade to digital and video for all the obvious reasons. I've been pleasantly surprised to find how user friendly and light the D3200 is. A distinct advantage for travelers. I'm still working my way through all the manual setting options (not hard, just limited time on my part), but the automatic is point and shoot ready. Nikon's easy lense exchange is terrific as always. Cameeta Camera put together a super package. Everything came quickly, brand new and in perfect condition. The lenses are very good for general use. D3200 comes with installed flash and red eye, but not a separate hot foot flash for bouncing light. These two lenses will do everything I need from kid sports to hiking the Rockies. Camera bag is heavy duty and durable for storage or car travel, but a bit bulky for air travel. The close up lenses came in handy for school science project displays. Great deal!

This is a great camera which gives you super quality pictures. The tripod and other accessories were also of a good quality.

Love this camera great for a beginner. And will be able to use for a long time as we learn photography. The price for the package deal was great too.

The camera is amazing. I'm glad I got the package with both lenses. It made it easy to take the long shots and the close ups of my family.I just came back from a vacation in the Caribbean and just viewed my pictures on my 50 inch plasma TV. They look perfect in every way.

Nikon D600 Digital SLR Camera & 24-85mm VR AF-S Zoom Lens with 64GB Card + 2 Batteries + Charge

Nikon D600 Digital SLR Camera & 24-85mm VR AF-S Zoom Lens with 64GB Card + 2 Batteries + Charger + 3 UV/FLD/CPL Filters + Remote + Accessory KitA wise man once told me to spend my money on reusable products and second guess ones that are not reusable. You can't always exercise that philosophy on all products but, Nikon must have known this wise only man too. So I didn't want to buy into aps-c sensor because I didn't think it was the way to go from SLR 35mm film to DSLR. With an FX, I can use all my old Nikon Lenses. Let's consider that the camera body cost around $2100.00 I'm thinking I've saved a bundle in the cost of purchasing new glass because I can slap on any old Nikon AF or MF lens and the camera work well enough to take quality pictures with an added bonus of a digital full frame sensor and more bells and whistles then I'll ever remember to use at one shoot. Let's not mention the time I'm going to save trying to sell all my old equipment which I can now use taking pictures of the New England Fall Foliage. Thanks Nikon.

Since this is my first DSLR I have nothing to rate in against. I've only had it a week and I can see a huge picture difference from my other 35mm SLRs. The quality of the D600 is outstanding and the features are better then anything I've ever used before. All I had to do is go through the menus and then use my computer to search the PDF manual to discover what they mean and do. This takes a couple of hours of my spare time which is like pressing the easy button at that stapler store.

I highly suggest that you purchase the camera in a bundle. I got two extra batteries, a lens, a 64gig memory card, a USB high speed card reader, and some straps and cleaning equipment. The same hour the camera arrived I was taking photos and uploading them to my favorite social network..... and they liked it!

I had it a few weeks, took some pic.of my daughter around the house. This is my first pro camera, to be used for personal use. I got tired of past cameras becoming outdated so quickly. I hope this one will last a long time. Digital has come a long way, it has a lot of options you have to spend a lot of time with the camera to learn it. You may want to consider classes to learn. It will only be as good as the the persons operating it. But so far all is great for me. I may get another lens for it later I am considering the nikkor 28mm-300mm lens.

Delivery and product as described, no complains. To include, however, a cheap filter set with a high quality camera does not make sense and the potential buyer should not be lured into a deal that looks better than it actually is. I decided to buy Hoya filters and forget about the included Zeikos. I must mention, though, that I have not tried them myself and cannot judge about their quality. I only read reviews about them.

Sony Professional HVR-Z1U 3CCD High Definition Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom

Sony Professional HVR-Z1U 3CCD High Definition Camcorder with 12x Optical ZoomThe HVR-Z1U seems too good to be true. And it is.

It promises a camera with full HD resolution and outstanding features for a reasonable price. In many ways, it delivers. The video quality is superior to the JVC HDV camera. Unlike the JVC, the camera offers full manual control and is a pleasure to shoot with professionally.

Alas for someone who expects and needs full HD resolution, the Sony is a disappointment. Pointing the camera at a resolution chart while viewing the output on a high resolution monitor (or on a computer after rendering to 1080i or 1080p) quickly reveals that the horizontal resolution is about 1200 lines, and vertical resolution is a little over 500.

The pixel count is thus about twice that of standard video, not four times, as we perhaps hoped. The 1200 lines of horizontal resolution is pretty good just about the same as 720p. But the vertical resolution is not very good at all.

A little math tells the story. Sony advertizes 1.1M pixels for each sensor, and 1440 lines horizontal. 1.1M/1440 gives a maximum of 770 lines vertical, not 1080 as promised. The measured vertical and horizontal resolution is distinctly lower.

An extensive web search revealed that the sensor has 1080 vertical lines, but only about 990 lines horizontal. To achive something closer to 1440 lines horizontal the green sensor is offset by half a pixel, and image processing is used to give a possible maximum resolution of 1440 on a black and white image. The problem is that the edge contrast beyond 900 lines horizontal becomes quite poor.

To make matters worse, (or to degrade the vertical resolution to match the horizontal) the vertical lines are read out of the sensor in pairs, so that each field is a mixture of two adjacent lines. This gives the vertical the same poor edge contrast as the horizontal.

It is possible by using the unsharp mask tool in Sony Vegas (or other editors) to improve the edge contrast. I use the maximum effect with the minimum radius in the Sony tool setting the radius slider to .001 pixels. You must do the sharpening operation using a properties setting of 1440x1080. Slightly better results can be obtained by putting an additional unsharp mask in series with the first, set to half-effect.

A major problem is deinterlace. Most editors (and most display devices) deinterlace by averaging fields, which reduces the maximum vertical resolution to 540 lines. You can add Mike Crash's excellent deinterlacer to the sharpening masks, and remove this limitation. Crash's smart deinterlace for Vegas can be downloaded for free with patience and persistence.

Sharpening and deinterlacing the image is very compute intensive. It takes me a good fraction of a week to do a two hour movie on a 3GHz pentium 4. But the result can be stunning. With the sharpening the Sony camera can give you a result that is close to a professional HD camera. I render to WMV9 rather than to MPEG2 remember to keep the properties at 1440x1080. After the render is complete, you can re-render to 720p, adding an additional bit of sharpening to compensate for the re-interpolation.

For best results always use a shutter speed of 60 frames/sec or higher. I have had mixed results with the steady shot option. Keep the camera as steady as possible, and try not to use more video gain than absolutely necessary.

Bottom line this camera produces video that is MUCH better than standard video, and significantly better than DV. But it would be awfully nice to have a camera that delivered the advertized resolution, and did it with a flat video frequency response.

I've used my Sony HVR-Z1U HDV camcorder in some very extreme conditions, and it it comes through on a regular basis. I shot Hurricane Katrina video footage during the storm (for StormStock) in driving 100 mph rain. At that time, I had purchased and was using a rain coat for the camera. It never failed. Previously, in Hurricane Dennis, the unit failed in the rain, without the coat. The screen went black. I dried it off with a hand dryer and it came back to life to be called back into action with Katrina.

My HVR-Z1U has shot hurricane video, tornadoes, lightning, and other storm footage, often in the rain and dust. And, it keeps on going.

The unit prefers mid-range lighting. It can shoot good footage if you give it that.

Sony can improve this unit by adding SDI to output to HDCAM. I'd also like to see true 24P added and maybe variable frame rates.

This camera is just a couple options away from being a professional system.

I've chosen this camera for my short film after viewing some rough footage at a local studio. The colors that this camera can capture in DV mode are jaw-dropping! It comes with all of the manual controls you could hope for and they're very intuitive. I highly recommend this to independent filmmakers if you're able to rent them in your area. It does not offer the 'truest' cinematic feel but if you do some research on the web you'll find resources for things you can do in pre & post production to get the feel you're looking for regardless of the camera you use.

Indie Filmmaker here, always looking out for a better camera!

The Sony HDV series is an astonishing technology

Don't let people tell you that the footage is "too compressed" ---technically, it is, but once it gets on screen, it looks stunning!

I haven't done much filming with this camera ---but I have seen its footage and edited its footage

Both on television and the computer monitor, I was impressed with its 'look' ---very detailed and extremely clear

Editing was a BREEEEEZE with this footage! I edited on Final Cut Pro and could composite 5 layers all above each other, each with a different opacity, and FCP's real time engine kept up without having to render! Thus, the compressed footage makes editing EASY but Sony has managed to make a beautiful picture out of this stuff too

For the Indie Filmmakers out there ---test one out before purchasing..... I find the Sony HDV to be the most clear look out there --emulating a beautifully shot NFL game on HD..... but for cinematic looks, I still may stick with the Panasonic DVX100, as there is a more cinema feel to that one

hope that helps

HAPPY BUYING!!!!

I have filmed and edited with this camera for 3 years and it is still the top of the line and current professional standard for HDV cameras. Its professional XLR sound capabilities set it apart from all the other camera in its price range.

The versatile aspect ratios and shooting abilities in any condition make this camera a must have for any professional and amateur indie filmmaker.

Very durable and strong construction with lots of manual control buttons quickly accessible to the cameraman. The menu is easy and intuitive.

Great for weddings and events of any kind! I cant tell you how many times over this camera has paid for itself and given me the competitive edge in a highly technical and fast paced job.

Nikon Coolpix S710 14.5MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom

Nikon Coolpix S710 14.5MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction ZoomI purchased this camera in five months ago. The picture quality is very good but it started developing problems after 3 months. It will not retain the time and date. It started to freeze up nd could only be turned off or on by removing batteries.

I sent it for repair at Nikon authorized center and was quickly told that this defect is not covered under warranty and will cost $99.00 to repair.

I strongly advise against the purchase of this series since I spoke to many coolpix owners and found out they have problems as well.

I am a pro photographer specializing in scenic imaging that is sold at the National Parks in the American Southwest. My products feature 360 degree VR photography in Flash and Quicktime. I often volunteer to take pictures of families and other groups of people at the Parks with their cameras so they can all be in a picture. So I have been handling these cool little point and shoot cameras, and I have seen the great pictures they take when my friends come back from trips and put on slide shows. So I decided the mini point and shoots have evolved enough so I should get one and experiment with using it for my work sometimes. I bought a top of the line, 12.5 mp Fujifilm FinePix F100fd. I returned it after one week. The pictures were muddy and had to be downsized to about 5 mp before they were sharp enough to use. And the "manual" controls just didn't cut it.

So I ordered the Nikon S710 in deep red to try next. It is a great little camera! The design is brilliant. It is a tiny work of art. I love it and you will too! I use Nikon SLR and DSLR cameras all the time, and the controls on this tiny point and shoot S710 work exactly the same as the controls on my expensive DSLR Nikons. The color out of this little camera is spot on, and the images are sharp and very much usable at the highest resolution, 14.5 mp! I like the lens. It can't match full size Nikon lenses for regular FX (35 mm) cameras, but it's pretty close. The high iso capabilities of the S710 are good. The vibration filtering works great and you can get some beautiful photos in low light situations with no tripod. I bought a mini tripod with the camera for $5 that works fine and got a nice, two tone burgundy and black case from LowePro for $15 that holds the camera, an extra battery and SDHC card, and the tiny tripod carries great slid through the belt loop, so I have a pretty complete kit that weighs less than a pound and fits in a pocket!

The ergonomics are superior and the camera feels natural in my big hands and its comfortable to hold and keeping my fingers away from the flash is just automatic. The buttons and select wheel work and feel just right and the menus in icon mode make sense and work intuitively.

The only thing I would suggest Nikon do to improve the camera is to provide a firmware update that allows you to save images in RAW format.

Some reviewers have complained about the camera being slow. It seems plenty fast to me and I have not found its speed an issue. The case is stainless steel and the finish has proved very durable so far and looks great! I love this camera and take it with me everywhere I go. I am flying to Chicago in a couple of weeks to see Etta James and go to a Cubs game and this kit is the only camera I am taking along.

I have a D-SLR that I use on a regular basis since photography is my hobby. I wanted a small camera that I could put in my pocket or purse instead of carrying my backpack of camera & lens around when I was just out & about. This camera takes as nice of pictures as my Canon and I am able to adjust the f/stop & shutter speed as well. There are around 16 pre-set modes that are helpful. The 14.5 mp is an added bonus if I want to enlarge my photographs. The case is sturdy and it does come with a ac charger & USB cable. I used a SDHC class 6 memory card to remove any lag time between pictures and for good video footage. You will not be disappointed.

As many of those providing poor to bad reviews, I had this camera about 3 to 4 months before I had the problem with the lens error as many have described. I had to always make certain the camera was well charged so this problem did not occur regularly. In addition, I have also experienced the problem where the camera does not maintain the time and every time I go to use it I have to set the date and time before I can take a picture with the camera. I also agree that it is not structurally sound.

I am very disappointed with this Nikon camera!!!

Want Nikon Coolpix S710 14.5MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom Discount?

My sister and I bought two Nikon Coolpix S710 cameras and they were both a great disappointment. My camera's lens broke before I even started using it. I turned it on for my trip to Washington D.C. but the screen said there was a lens error that couldn't be fixed. I tried turning it on/off, taking out the battery, shaking it, but nothing worked. In the end, I had to ship it back for a new one and I only had it for two days!

My sister's camera worked once before it had problems turning on/off. She would need to remove the battery and reinsert it every time. She will also be returning her camera.

I definitely do not recommend this camera to anyone.

I just received my Opteka CS-400 stabilizer. The shipping was fast from 47th Street Photo, +1. Well, for $39 shipped it is a great deal. The quality of the components is very high. The functionality is also very good. I hooked up my 7D with my view finder and the shoots were very stable. I actually bought this to use as a stand alone rig, but also to use the parts to complete my larger rig. The parts by them selves are well worth the cost.
