TOSHIBA TDP-T45U Portable DLP Projector

I have had one of these projectors for about 5 years now. It provides really great contrast ratio for a projector that's under $1000 (I bought it at $800 in 2007). The image is bright and visible even when it's light out (although, having a lot of light in the room will reduce visibility). It provides a consistently sharp image when watching HD video.

Compared with more modern projectors, it still does well, but it does not display 1080p, only 720p or 1080i. That said, it's a great projector if you don't want to plunk down some serious cash for a $3000 projector.

It is a little bit noisy, if you're used to regular LCD/LED/Plasma TVs, because of the lamp fan, but the noise is pretty easily drowned out if you have a good set of speakers.

I had to replace the original lamp after 1,500 hours. The documentation said I'd have to replace it between 2,000 and 3,000 hours, but I think the life of the lamp got severely hindered by a power surge. Maybe 20 or 30 hours of use after the power surge happened, the lamp cut out for good.

I have it mounted to a ceiling mount about 15 feet (4.6 meters) from the screen on which it's projecting, and it creates about a 114 inch (2.9 meter) diagonal image.

It's an all-around great projector, and I use it mainly for watching movies or playing games.

If you want a projector and you want quality that doesn't come withh a $1500 pricetag. Then this is your friend!

I bought this camera because of the described features regular batteries, HD movies as easy as pressing a button, the extra small eye for glare-free steady focus. Being able to use the view finder and turning off the back screen saves batteries. If you do need to change batteries this camera uses standard AAs that are available everywhere. The 5x zoom is great and more adaptable than a phone or tablet camera. The size of the camera is great. Fits in a pocket with ease.

I bought four of these (prior version) cameras for school and one for the school auction/dance (auctioned off with 4 hours of my time for photo instruction, etc.).

Anyhow I LOVE these cameras. AA batts so I don't have to worry about whether the camera is charged or not. (I have a PowerShot SX210 with two lithium batts, personally. But for school, recharging batts is no good the cameras might sit on the shelf for a while and lose charge and I don't want to buy extra $60 batts for them.)

So...kids use them, mostly, to shoot videos. Being able to take the SCCard out of the camera and put it into a small SD Card reader is just so easy. Forget about the USB cable. Most laptops now come with SD slots in them so you can pop the card out of the camera and into your laptop how much easier is that??

I have a shed with a lot of tools. Recently, some of those tools went missing and I had no idea where they went. One here, another there and no one seemed to know who took them. I setup this camera without telling anyone what I was doing and connected it to the old VCR we had and pretended I used the VCR only for the clock. On the second day of recording, I caught my Brother-in-law coming in to grab tools. When I confronted him, he confessed to taking the tools and claimed that he was planning to return them but kept forgetting. I still havent told anyone about the camera.

This camera is all it is advertised to be. My only complaint is the power connector's. They don't fit very tight so a little wiggle and you lose power to the camera. I taped them together to minimize motion and make sure it doesn't get moved after installation. Otherwise it's got good resolution. I would order another, if I needed one.

Have an outside cam system but wanted something inside that was hidden in case someone ever got in my home. This works. I have it hooked up to a mini DVR that will take a photo or video if there is movement. The Mini Pinhole is a color cam with nightvision in black/white. The camera actually takes some clear photos and videos. It was easy to conceal also.

I got this cable for my Alienware M15x laptop. I was surprised it'd didn't come with an HDMI and was not familiar with displayport. I got this cable so I could watch my movie files while on vacation. The adapter works great and is very well made. The part that plugs into the data port has a positive locking system which is nice. The quality is also very good and it feels substantial and well put together.

Additional info. For me (as mentioned in the comments below), in order to send the audio through the HDMI cable, you will need to get into the "sound and Audio devices" of the control panel and change the sound playback Default Device to the displayport cable. If you don't the sound will come out the laptop speakers or whatever speakers you have hooked up to the laptop.

Just a quick update. I've been using this cable on and off for a while and it still works just fine. More and more hotels have nice TV's with HDMI in plugs so I can play my movies from my laptop which is nice.

I just wanted to mention that although the photo of the adapter may look like a USB at first glance IT'S NOT, it IS a DisplayPort male end you are seeing. This is a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, just like the title says. I see too many people giving this item bad reviews because they made the mistake of ordering it thinking it is a USB to HDMI. It isn't. The title and description is correct. I'm not saying I've never ordered the wrong thing by mistake but I can't say I'd blame Amazon for my mistake.

I was a bit disappoint to see my new Dell laptop come with DP++ (DisplayPort++) output instead of HDMI. I connected the laptop with this adapter to a 6ft HDMI cable directly into my 1080p Phillips flatscreen. Everything comes through perfect with sound. The "locking" design to keep the cable in performs as well as it should. I'm fully satisfied with this adapter because it works.

I bought this to run 3 monitors on an ATI 5770. I thought I could use a passive adapter since I did not need dual-link DVI on the monitor I was connecting it to (since it was only 1920x1200). However, it turns out that you NEED an ACTIVE ADAPTER if you want to run 3 monitors. Yes, this will work if you want to run two monitors but in order for the ATI 5770 to be able to output to 3 monitors, one must be NATIVE DisplayPort and it seems that a passive adapter is not considered "native" because when using a passive adapter, it does not actually output a native DisplayPort signal. To convert a native DisplayPort signal to DVI, an active adapter is required.

Additional info: It seems the 5000 series cards have two RAMDACs so they can only output two signals that require a RAMDAC. A native DisplayPort signal does not require a RAMDAC. Because of the two RAMDAC limitation, the only way to get three monitors is to use a native DisplayPort signal because it doesn't require a RAMDAC. Passive converters DO NOT convert native DisplayPort signals and THEREFORE REQUIRE the use of a RAMDAC. Because only 2 RAMDACs are available, a passive adapter, which requires another RAMDAC, won't work for 3 monitor setups.

This little DisplayPort (DP) to DVI adapter works great on my Lenovo T-series notebook. I highly recommend this if you want to use a large monitor but don't like the limitations of the VGA port.

Get cable cheap as all get out. displays MPB at 2550x1600 on U3011 Dell monitor. Should have gotten the 6' though. perfect for a notebook on monitor intallation. What's with the 99.00 apple contraption?

Does not work for Apple Mac Mini Mid 2011 to HP L2201x monitor. The problem is that there is occasional video jitter every 20 seconds or so.
