3 In 1 Out HDMI to HDMI Switch Hub Switcher Adapter Box Selector HDTV 1080p

3 In 1 Out HDMI to HDMI Switch Hub Switcher Adapter Box Selector HDTV 1080pSome months ago I purchased an "HDMI 3 to 1 Switch" from Amazon that has an all but identical design to this one. That one has worked wonderfully, and my attempt to buy a second one led directly to this one. However, the two are not the same. This one, with the red HDMI lettering is slightly bigger than the other and, more importantly, didn't work.

I tried this on two different HD television / DVD systems. On the first, I got nothing at all -no signals. On the second (using the same HDMI cables, by the way), the signal from the HDD / DVD recorder came through, but with the error message "check connection" on the screen, and the signal from the standalone DVD recorder came through in black and white, with the same error message. I understand that HDMI is finicky, but this was disappointing. I wish I'd purchased two of that original HDMI 3 to 1 switch....

I have an older lcd. There is only one hdmi. This solved my problem. I connected my Xbox, Blu-Ray player and DirecTV. It automatically changes to whichever one I am using. Plus, you don't need an electrical outlet, it is just an adapter. Plug and play. Great price. Could not be happier.

Buy 3 In 1 Out HDMI to HDMI Switch Hub Switcher Adapter Box Selector HDTV 1080p Now

I got this HDMI 3 in 1 out switch a few days a go to help me in hooking up the XBox 360, FIOS TV and the Apple TV to my TV, didn't know if it could manage the quality I wanted or not, or if I had to manually switch between the devices. But, interestingly enough, even when the FIOS is on and we turn on the XBox, it automatically switches to the XBox and when the box is turned off moves back to the FIOS. I believe it deserves the 5 stars as its doing exactly what I needed it for with no loss in quality, not to mention that requires no external power and is small enough to fit anywhere in my entertainment center without being noticeable.

I'll keep it short and sweet:

I have my Ps3 and Xbox 360 hooked up and it Auto switches between the 2. Its very small maybe 2x2 inches and has a red indicator that lets you know which peripherals video is being sent to the tv. It won't auto switch with my Fios Hd box, but it's not a fault of the product, my Fios box won't automatically turn on the t.v. like my Xbox and Ps3 does.

Finally I got switch that really working. I bought Ultra High Performance HDMI Switcher, 3to1 Switch before this one. It overheats from the beginning and stop working on the second day. But this Product exactly as described and works perfectly, delivery takes longer then from others similar sellers, but it compensates by getting really working product.

Cable Matters 6 ft High Speed HDMI Cable in White for 3D 4Kx2K HD Displays

Cable Matters 6 ft High Speed HDMI Cable in White for 3D 4Kx2K HD DisplaysGREAT SERVICE,RECEIVED CABLES IN LESS TIME THAN ESTIMATED. EACH CABLE WAS WRAPPED INDIVIDUALLY AND WERE IN NEW CONDITION. THEY ARE NICE HEAVY CABLES THAT ARE AS GOOD OR BETTER THEN ANYTHING AVAILABLE IN RETAIL STORES AT A MUCH LOWER COST.

I received this cable in standard packaging and connected my receiver and TV. So far, it has been working well, without any hassle.

It's a great price for a white cable that will mesh with your environment.

Missing one star, simply because I do not see warranty information listed on the product page.

Before I purchased this to run through my wall I tried using a thick cable and it was a disaster. This flat cable worked well running through the wall and connecting behind my plasma with a limited amount of depth. it is also ARC compatible so it works with my sound bar.

Product works and the price was great. HDMI cables are typically way over priced and not worth the money, this was reasonably priced.

Cable is sturdy but not so much that it does not bend. I use the cable on my computer monitor so I can use the 1 available HDMI port on my graphics card for my TV.

Display and audio quality is great with absolutely no issues. I would definitely recommend this product!

Canon EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera Body with EF-S 18-135mm IS Lens & 75-300mm III Lens + 16GB Car

Canon EOS 60D Digital SLR Camera Body with EF-S 18-135mm IS Lens & 75-300mm III Lens + 16GB Card + Battery + Case + Tripod + Accessory KitThis product was just what i wanted, i've been in photograhy for over 30 years and this is a first class kit for the price and delivery. The lens options are really good and very well priced as a kit.

The camera is simply sensational. The accompanying lenses and goods will accommodate most needs. Only missing component, in my humble opinion, is a solid wide-angle or macro lens, but that would increase the price another $300-$500.

This is my first DSLR, however, I thoroughly researched it and have owned and extensively used two very good SLR's and the shift has been rather smooth. The Canon 60D is a great DSLR camera for those amateurs who do not wish to spend Canon 7D money and find the Canon T2i inadequate.

Only complain about the experience was that the items were not properly packed, but not enough of a reason to remove a star from the rating scale.

The only kind of camera I have had was an old throw away camera. So far with this Canon 60D, it really seems to be what they say the camera is. I am amazed how good of pictures that it takes. Some have not been very good due to the blurriness of them. This is not the cameras fault but the person behind the camera. The main reason for this review is for Cameta Cameras. This is who I ordered it from. When I placed the order I needed the camera to be delivered by a certain date. I purchased the 2 day shipping. After I had placed the order I realized that the day I ordered the camera, I had the wrong date which meant that the camera most likely would not be delivered when I needed it. It was late in the day and not sure if I could change the shipping or even get it out that day. I sent an email to the company explaining my screw up and they responded that they would make sure it got out that same day. I received the camera when I needed to have it. Thank you Cameta Cameras for the great customer service and going above and beyond what I had originally ordered for shipping.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS25 16.1 MP Compact Digital Camera with 40x Intelligent Zoom (Black)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS25 16.1 MP Compact Digital Camera with 40x Intelligent ZoomThis is the 8th Panasonic Lumix camera I've purchased since my first in 2008. For some reason the ZS25 reminds me of my SZ7 looks-wise Panasonic Lumix SZ7 14.1 MP High Sensitivity MOS Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom (Black) -it's the rounded top to allow for the lens. Even though the SZ7 is over $150 cheaper than the ZS25, it takes much sharper photos. However, the SZ7 doesn't have full PASM manual controls and has only 10X optical zoom. They both start-up fast, faster than any other cameras I own/have previously owned, fast focusing (unless you are zooming out at the max), fast shutter response, fast recycling to take the next photo. (I always use Class 10 SDHC cards). If only the SZ7 had full manual controls, it would be THE perfect camera as the photos are much more sharp to my liking.

PROS:

-This is a fast camera for focusing, shutter response, etc.

-Leica lens LOVE Leica! Too bad it can't help the processor--or whatever causes the noise.

-You can optically zoom during the video and the zoom motor is quiet.

-Metal body (aluminum?) although it sounds like plastic when I tap on it, it has good build quality.

-CMOS sensor.

-Creative Controls: Like these, some never available in previous Panasonic cameras

-Made in Japan!

CONS: Or, what the heck is up, Panasonic?

- MAJOR Deal Breaker! It's almost like you have to set your ISO to 400 or less; it seems anything above ISO 400 starts looking out-of-focus but I think it's Panasonic's new way of smoothing out the noise.

-No separate battery charger, the battery charges inside the camera. This is starting to become the "new normal" with Panasonic cameras, other than the LX7. Quit being so cheap Panasonic, supply us with a separate battery charger!

- No RAW, for the RAW enthusiasts (I am not)

Panasonic photos are notorious for being "soft", these are more than soft and I'm not happy with this aspect AT ALL. Colors are good and natural. It's the sharpness which is "off" for me. And so the reason for my 3 star rating!!

The 1080 video is decent, but not as good as Sony cameras provide (cheaper ones, like this camera): Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX10V 18.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Digital Camera with 16x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Silver) (2012 Model). With the ZS25, you can optically zoom during the video, the zoom motor is quiet and you can also take a photo while shooting a video (limited to 2 pics).

Battery life pretty much average. I got 200 photos and a couple videos before the low battery indicator was down to 1/3 left.

I've always loved the Quick Menu feature on Pannies and this one is in the correct location (lower right corner, sometimes they are on the left side, lower right, such as the LX7). What I don't like on this camera is they eliminated the playback switch, now it's a button. On older Panasonic cameras, I kept the Playback Switch on playback when I put the camera in the case, as that prevented accidental zoom of the lens if the camera accidentally was turned on inside the case. Can't do that with this camera.

Yarii's Conclusion: This is the first Panasonic I've rated 3 stars. I struggled and decided the ZS25 is not worthy of 4 stars. I'm disappointed; Panasonic should have done better. This camera replaced the ZS15. If you're happy with your ZS15 (or ZS20) there's no reason to upgrade to the ZS25; I wouldn't even call it an upgrade, it's more like a downgrade. If you don't care about having manual controls, check out the SZ7 (see link above) and save over $150. I think the ZS25 (and the ZS30) are both WAY overpriced, and I think Panasonic has run out of ideas and they came out with new models only because all the other camera manufacturers do for the CES.

Sad, but true I've owned numerous smaller Panasonic Lumix cameras. The smaller, pocket-size versions all work well and last about 2-3 years before they go bad. By that time the technology changes anyway, so it's not a big deal for me to think about replacing them with the latest version.

They have always been well-made, and delivered excellent quality pictures. Expected the same for this one.

Tried it for over a week, but was just not loving it. The build quality of the Lumix DMC-XS25 was not as good as it should be. They seemed to have replaced some parts with more plastic than in past models, and the quality of the pictures was not perfect either. Disappointing, as I have loved all my other Panasonic cameras and recommended them to others. I still like the smaller versions they offer, but this one did not deliver.

It felt like it was going to break, and the photos at 16 MP didn't seem as crisp and sharp as you'd think they should be.

Instead, ended up paying less than $100 more for the Sony DSC-HX20V, which seemed like more of an investment but looking back I cannot imagine NOT doing it. The Sony is head and shoulders above this Panasonic. The only downside in comparison is that it's not as fast as the Panasonic (i.e., when you are trying to take pictures in rapid succession the Panasonic is much faster, as the Sony evaluates each photo as it's taken and corrects it electronically).

I still like Panasonic, but for this specific camera it's just not up-to-par.

I just got this camera in time for the first nice weather weekend on the East Coast and we went to NYC with the family for a nice day in Central Park.

I purchases a ZS10 2 years ago and skipped last year's model to buy the ZS25 this year.

It is a very fast camera from start up time to auto focus time and shutter release. I can't even tell the difference in speed compared to my DSLR (5 yrs old)

Lumix is known for superior lens quality I read an article that they have a very close working relationship with Leica which speaks for itself. So I wasn't surprised at the image quality even at max zoom. BTW keep in mind this is a 24 mm to 480 mm lens meaning that 24 mm is a nice wide angle comes in handy for indoor and nice group shots.

The reason I sound so exciting is the video capability of this camera. We went to a school concert the other night and I took some incredible videos of our little girl on stage. Just make sure you switch the recoding mode to MP4 the default setting is on AVCHD the compression mode that no computer can read!

The videos I took were great not too noisy even though it was real dark.

I am very pleased and feel this is a great little camera that is compact but gives you lots of shooting options.

I think that this is great camera as long as you do not attempt to print a photo on letter size paper. Results will not be that good. The main problem that this system has is that it compresses JPEGs to 180 dpi. Thus, trying to do any re-touching is out of question. So, if you are planning to do 6x4 prints, email family and friends, or upload to the Facebook, this will do great. Focus is fast and I had no problems catching up with my 4 year old. However, I need something that can print on larger paper, and for 16MP, results were unacceptable. I have exchanged it for Nikon Coolpix 9500S

The 20x zoom and 16MP sensor combined with the compact size makes this a great pocket or travel camera, particularly when I don't want to take my larger interchangeable lens camera with me.

The 10fps burst mode makes shooting my son's sports easy and yields great results, and I like that I can take full HD Video with the same device.

I've experimented with the creative controls, and the modes help me take more creative/artistic photos and never need to edit them on my PC.

Definitely worth a look!

Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Silver)

Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm LensPicked this camera up at Best Buy. So instead of relying on Amazon you should definitely check and see if one of your local stores has it in stock.

Anyway, the first thing you will notice about this camera is that its a bit larger than its predecessor (and the 5N). I've heard a lot of the reviewers bemoan the fact that its a larger camera, I guess those folks like their cameras to feel extremely front-heavy? With the NEX-F3, the camera feels much more balanced and much more pleasant to hold and shoot with. Also, the deeper hand-grip up front and the placement of the shutter button are plusses as well. It's still quite compact, though.

On this camera, the battery charging is done in-camera like a cell phone. The camera takes a long time to charge though, from what I have noticed so far. The SD card has been separated from the battery slot but it still sits on the bottom of the camera. This can make it a real pain if trying to use a tripod.

The camera's weakest spot is its user interface. Sorry, I should not have to go digging in the menu system to change the ISO. And I should also be able to adjust the shutter speed and aperture while adjusting the focus area which I can't do on this camera. The system for changing settings on this camera is so menu driven that it might slightly irritate enthusiasts who want direct controls to quickly adjust settings. Basic direct access controls should not be a luxury Sony reserves for its more expensive cameras.

The LCD is bright and clear, and articulates. Although this one flips up so you can take self-portraits with it if that's your thing. When you flip up the LCD to face you and press the shutter, you get a 3-second countdown before it snaps a self-photo.

The video is excellent on this camera as is with most Sonys. I haven't played much with it other than shooting short clips but from what I have seen thus far it does really well. It doesn't have much of an enthusiast feature set though.

The camera has excellent image quality...on-par with its sub-$1,000 DSLRs peers. Even at ISO1600 you have to look very carefully to notice some effects of noise reduction and detail degredation. Sharpness and detail capture are excellent. The camera tends to underexpose a little but I would rather it do that than overexpose. The default color output is a little muted, but change the color setting to Vibrant and you get much punchier results (if you're the type of person that prefers more saturated colors). But if you're coming from a point and shoot or even an enthusiast compact, you will certainly notice the different in image quality with this camera. The 18-55 kit lens that it comes with is an okay performer. I think the 16-50 pancake zoom that just came out is a little bit better optically but as a starter lens, the 18-55mm lens is fine.

Shooting performance is top-notch, the AF is snappy even in low-light, and shot-to-shot times are good.

If you don't mind the quirky interface that this camera has, you'll find it to be an excellent performer otherwise. Excellent image quality, decent AF performance, and a comfortable shooting design.

I ordered The NEX F3 from Amazon and when I got it the LCD screen did not turn on. I contacted Sony and they told me to send it in for repair, so I just decided to return it to Amazon for a replacement. Amazon sent me a replacement the very next day and this time it worked. The NEX F3 suits me perfectly. I am not a professional photographer, just a mom who likes to take beautiful pictures, especially of her little kids, friends and I also take pictures at small events. I did not want a point and shoot camera, and I also did not want a compact system camera that looked like a point and shoot. After reading different reviews from professional websites, I decided to go with this one because I really like the way it feels in my hands and I also like the way it looks.(beautiful, sleek camera)

WHY I LIKE THIS CAMERA

Very easy to use

The auto portrait framing

180° tiltable 3.0" LCD for self portrait. (I like taking pictures of myself with my babies so this was very important for me)

Having a built in flash is also a plus.

The photo creativity interface, (the picture effective mode) My pictures look like it was taken by a professional. I used the SDHC EXTREME 16G C10 with this camera and it works very well and very fast.

I am very satisfied with this camera, I really love it.

Buy Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Silver) Now

I've had this camera for about three days. It is going back. The images it takes are excellent, the body size for me is just right (big hands), the zoom feature and the portrait framing are really nice features. The build seems to exude quality. Well, if it's such a great camera, why is it going back you ask? I took it out in the California sunshine at 10am and the LCD screen was so dim I couldn't see what I was supposed to be shooting. OK, so I change to the highest manual setting. Not much help although a little better. Still not very bright. So I change to the Sunny Weather setting; this should do it, right? Fraid not. The screen is still dimmer than my Panasonic FZ150 point and shoot. Is is practically impossible to compose a picture on a, what I consider to be poorly designed LCD screen. It is so reflective as to be almost mirrorlike. You have to shade the screen somehow and it still doesn't help much. The designers must never venture outside in the sunlight when they design/test the screens. It breaks my heart to send it back but you either pay another $350 for a viewfinder attachment or live with a camera where composition is a guess and by golly venture when you have no shade to hide in. I don't think the screen on my particular unit was defective, just a poorly designed part of the camera. The screen on my FZ150 was at least a third brighter and practically non-reflective compared to the F3. Sony should ask Panasonic how to design a screen. A gigantic screw up on an otherwise excellent camera! (Could it be a purposeful ploy to force you to shell out another $350 to buy the viewfinder?) I know this review may sound cynical but I really wanted to keep this little beauty but if you can't compose a picture, what good is the camera? I may have to spring for the SLT A57.

Read Best Reviews of Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Silver) Here

I'm writing this review after putting my nikon D50 up for sale on ebay. A lot of reviews are going to focus on the fact that manual controls are hidden too deep inside the menu (which is true!), but those reviews are missing the point that this camera makes good decisions so much of the time that you'll rarely, if ever need to choose the aperture or shutter speed.

What I like about the camera:

1) The flash is mounted on this bendable plastic prop that can be bent to face upwards. This means that instead of your flash whitewashing your subjects, you can have it bounce off the ceiling, giving pictures a far more natural look. This feature has actually made the flash a usable option for indoor photography.

2) The lcd screen flips out, allowing you to take the "me, my wife and the palm tree" pictures you've always wanted to take. You'll see some reviewers carping about how the screen doesn't do a 45-degree bend (like on the nex 5N) for overhead shots, but ignore them the screen does bend enough for you to take overhead shots.

3) The superior auto mode is the star of the show, so I'm surprised it's not turned on by default. It's this feature that makes me appreciate how far cameras have come over the last 5 years. This mode does a very good job of guessing what you're trying to take a picture of (children, potted plants, gazelles) and applying the right shutter speed, aperture size, etc. This mode also enables auto-HDR, which does a great job bringing out detail in a high contrast picture.

4) This is actually the result of point 3), but the auto white balance on this camera is terrific! With my old nikon I had to constantly be adjusting the white balance, setting it using a grey card, etc. This camera nails the white balance each time!

What I don't like:

There are some settings that seem to disappear if you power cycle the camera like the picture effect, the "warmth" of the picture, etc. This can get annoying.

Overall, I have to say I'm quite pleased with the purchase. My nikon D50 used to be my camera of choice for the creative control it provided, but this is my new favorite, because it lets me spend more time taking pictures and less time fiddling with settings to get the picture right.

Want Sony NEX-F3K/S 16.1 MP Compact System Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Silver) Discount?

I'm an photography enthusiast; I like to tinker with my settings (sometimes from shot to shot), so I was a little worried about the lack of external controls on the F3. I've been following the NEX camera's ever since their announcement a few years ago. I had always been fascinated with its features and performance, so I decided maybe the 3 programmable buttons on the F3 would be enough. Apparently the 3 soft programmable buttons are a bit deceiving... The 3 button actually allow you to program 7 settings for quick access! This is because the button in the middle of the dial can be programmed to hold 5 settings. If you choose this, when you press the middle button, it brings up a sub menu of (up to) 5 settings. This along with the 2 pre-programmed buttons (drive mode: single shot, multi... and exposure compensation) really gives you quick access to 9 settings.

Here's what what my setup looks like:

Pre-programmed:

*Up on dial (Display)

*Left on dial (Drive Mode)

*Down on dial (Exposure Compensation)

Soft Programmed:

*Right on dial (Digital Zoom: this actually looks pretty good, so I kept it on easy access)

*Bottom button (Shooting Mode)

*Middle button

>ISO

>Smile Shutter (Fun feature, takes a picture when the camera detects a smile yeah I fell for it!)

>D-Range/HDR settings

>White Balance

>Auto-Focus Area

A few other notes.

+Good stabilization (I got sharp images even at 1/10 shutter speed)

+Great flash (you can adjust the angle to bounce it off the ceiling for a more natural look)

+Great low-light performance

+Great image quality

-A little too much noise reduction (even on the low setting, wish I could turn it off completely, but you won't notice it much until ISO 1600+)

This camera really exceeded my expectations. If you like tweaking your camera settings, I hope the lack of external controls don't deter you from getting this great camera. You have more control than you think. I primarily shoot in Aperture mode, so I can't vouch for how the program/other auto modes perform. I might try them out on an upcoming trip. If I do, I'll update my findings on this report.

(P.S. The first thing you should do when you get this camera is: bring up the menu, go to setup, scroll down to "Help Guide Display" and turn it OFF! Seriously, the little popup help in the menu is pretty annoying).

Logitech WiLife Digital Video Security Indoor Add On Camera

Logitech WiLife Digital Video Security Indoor Add On CameraI currently ordered this indoor camera from Directdeals and when I first got it it worked fine for the first 5 hours. Then for some reason it died and I had to return it.I talked to the guy from Directdeals and they where nice.So they sent me another one for exchange.I was happy to hear I was getting my camera replaced. When I got my replacement it didnt work so I called wilife and we trouble shooted everything turns out the camera is bad.So that made me think why is the second camera bad too?So I dont think I will get my money back and im going to have to waste my time and call them again and ask for another exchange. In my opinion when you buy something online as a customer you expect to have everything there and working. So im giving this a thumb down.

We have used this product and 4 camera's for over a year and only one camera has burned out. We have 3 of the indoor basic cameras and one nanny cam. I get snapshots of alerts on my blackberry via gmail. I use windows 7 home, and have a poor internet connection, yet i can see my cameras in real time via an ipad, an ipod touch or any computer. This system is easy to use and set up, even without the platinum subscription it fits our needs perfectly. I bought cameras from Sams, Amazon, and Wilife, and never had to return one. We have many thunderstorms and power surges here and so far I dont think these electrical issues have caused a problem.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W690 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (201

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W690 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCDI just spent the day trying out this camera as the backup to my Canon SX40 and as a potential toss in the pocket and go/social outing camera. I've owned several Sony Cybershots before and in general, they tend to be a great outdoor picture camera and very poor indoors and in low lighting. After reviewing the day's photos, I've come to the following conclusions:

1. First, let's state the obvious. There's no comparing this quality-wise to the Canon SX40 and nor should there be. This is a budget compact point and shoot, whereas the SX40 is a bridge camera, frankly the best camera I've ever owned. That said, the quality is pretty good for its price range from first impressions (I took 43 photos in a variety of conditions, angles and zoom levels. 30 of the 43 I felt good enough quality to upload to my Japan photoblog on Facebook a pretty good ratio, considering several of the pictures were duplicate efforts at the same shot).

2. In particular, this camera's indoor and low-light shooting ability is vastly improved over, oh, pretty much every Cybershot I've ever owned in the past. Canon will still, in general, outperform Sony in those two categories, but in my mind, this one's a major leap forward for the Sony Cybershot line.

3. It's perfect for just throwing in my pocket and traipsing around. No need to carry the camera bag like with the SX40. So for that reason and the increased indoor/low-light ability, I'm thinking it will work just fine for going out with friends and all that sort of thing.

4. The 10x zoom isn't going to be easy to find in the sub-$200 range, and that's quite honestly probably the biggest reason I got this as my backup camera. I just wanted a cheap camera that took decent pictures and had at least an 8x zoom. It fits the bill terrifically there.

5. The image stabilization on this camera is *very* good for the price range, in my opinion. I tend to have shaky hands and only two or three pictures came out with significant blur.

Since I've listed the pros, let's go to the cons:

1. The single biggest con THIS IS A VERY SLOW PROCESSING TIME CAMERA. So if you're the sort who likes to get lots of shots off at once, avoid this camera. I found it a touch annoying, but since I tend to like to take time to set up my shots anyway, it didn't irritate me quite as much as it might some people.

2. For people with large hands like mine, the buttons/etc. can feel somewhat crowded and it may take pressing a second or third time when pushing the on/off button to get it to turn off.

3. If you're used to something like the SX40's 35x zoom, the 10x zoom will be something of an adjustment period and a culture shock. So to be quite honest, if zoom power is a big deal to you, as it is for me, rather than get this camera, I would save up and get the Canon SX40.

Overall Verdict:

If you're on a budget and either can't afford or don't want to spend $200+ on a camera, or if you're looking for a low-end point and shoot compact you can just stick in your pocket and not have to haul around your primary camera, this is a good camera to get. It offers a nice all-around game of image quality, stabilization feature, and a decent for the money zoom in a compact, portable package. Be sure that you can live with the slow processing time, though. As part of that, do keep in mind that in this range no camera is going to be perfect. Every one you find for this price ballpark is going to have some drawback to deal with.

I just came back from a six week trip to Eastern Europe. I had with me a Sony SteadyShot DSC-T100. Four weeks ago, in Krakow, Poland, the SteadyShot suddenly died after three years of fairly rugged use. I went to an electronics store in Krakow and, not having ready access to the Internet, decided to take a chance on the W690, which looked similar to the now-deceased SteadyShot in design and functionality (if you've ever bought an electronic gadget in Europe you know that you simply have to swallow hard and do it since the 23% VAT adds, well, 23% to the price, which even when you have it refunded at the airport, is eaten up by the processing fee).

But I digress. I fell in love with this camera. I am a basic point-and-shoot picture taker. I am sitting with both cameras in front of me as I write this review. The 690 is half the weight of the T100, which wasn't all that heavy to begin with, and half as slim as the T100, which wasn't exactly a "pocket pig." The zoom was extraordinary and the functionality, including basic video, panorama-picture and just plain easy handling was great for a traveler who wants to take a nice shot now and then. The shot-framing was straightforward. The low-light quality of the pics was quite fine. I tried the panorama-shot feature for the first time standing on Castle Hill in Vilnius, Lithuania and was very pleasantly surprised at the ease of the feature and the spectacular shot of the Baroque old town that I now have. The camera indulged my occasional attempts to get "artsy" with different focus, lighting and framing.

I uploaded 500 or so shots to the PC last night and the quality of the pictures is exactly what I had hoped for. If you are a point-and-shooter like me who just wants to take good pictures this camera will be an excellent choice.

Now I only have to pick out the 25 shots that my friends and family will be willing to look at.

Buy Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W690 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (201 Now

I dropped my old Sony camera and it wouldn't power up. After owning two Sony digital cameras and two Sony camcorders over the years I hoped the DSC W690 would be just as likeable as a replacement. It was not. To play back a photo to view it immediately would show "Accessing" on the screen first for several seconds. This is annoying and my prior cameras did not do this. Using in autofocus mode for anything moving was also a problem. By the time the shutter snapped, the subject was gone or out of focus. We are talking a person processing by at a wedding, not a race car flying by. I returned the camera for a refund and got a Panasonic Lumix SZ7 that we are very happy with. Sorry, Sony. I tried to be faithful.

I bought this camera for my Parents to replace an aging camera. Bought it at a great price and was really happy with the output of both the pictures and video on this camera. Not as good as my higher priced Sony, but very nice all the same. I am use to the Sony menus on my camera and this one was not much different, except that it has less options, therefor a simpler menu. I set it in Intelligent mode and showed them how to zoom, how to switch back and forth from video mode, press the shutter button, and how to view the files and they were good to go...

Want Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W690 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Zoom and 3.0-inch LCD (Black) (201 Discount?

This is at least the third Sony Cybershot that I have personally owned and it's the best yet. My previous generation was great but I lost it prior to an important trip and figured if I had to buy another that I should go ahead and upgrade. I am so delighted that I did....almost makes me glad that I lost the old camera. The increased zoom is astounding for such a little camera if your object on the other end is still. Night shots without the flash are amazing. New panorami feature is fun. Not sure how many applications to use it for. Only criticism is that the switch between photos, video and panoramic slides way too easily and you wind up in the wrong mode often.

HDMI CL2 Rated (In-Wall Installation) FLAT Cable (24AWG) - 35ft (Gold Plated Connectors)

HDMI CL2 Rated FLAT Cable - 35ftThere are lots of HDMI cables available with a wide variety of prices. If you are planning on making a long run, you will want to make sure you do not buy a cheap cable. I chose this cable because it was rated for an in wall installation (CL2 Rated). Exactly what that gets you is beyond me. But doing a little research, I found that if you are installing an HDMI cable in a wall, you should be using CL2. The cable was installed in the wall this weekend. On each end, the cable was connected to HDMI wall plates. And then from one wall plate I have an HDMI cable going to my cable box and connected to the other wall plate is another HDMI cable going to my TV. So with my 35 foot in wall cable and a cable going to the cable box and a cable going to the TV, I am approaching 50 feet of total HDMI cables. Thankfully it all works. The picture quality is just as good as if it were direct connected to a 6 foot HDMI. I attribute my success to this CL2 cable.
